Fox News airs edited version of Teamsters’ President Jimmy Hoffa Jr.’s warm-up speech ahead of President Obama’s Labor Day address in Detroit, saying “let’s take these son of bitches out” as a call to violence.
Teamsters President Jimmy Hoffa Jr. had some choice words for Republicans, specifically the Tea Party, while warming up the crowd for President Barack Obama’s speech in Detroit, Mich., Monday:
“We got to keep an eye on the battle that we face: The war on workers. And you see it everywhere, it is the Tea Party. And you know, there is only one way to beat and win that war. The one thing about working people is we like a good fight. And you know what? They’ve got a war, they got a war with us and there’s only going to be one winner. It’s going to be the workers of Michigan, and America. We’re going to win that war,” Jimmy Hoffa Jr. said to a heavily union crowd.
“President Obama, this is your army. We are ready to march. Let’s take these son of bitches out and give America back to an America where we belong,” Hoffa added. Source: Real Clear Politics (edited by Fox News to misconstrue original intent of Jimmy Hoffa’s statements, sounds a lot like Andrew Breitbart’s smear campaign on Shirley Sherrod.)
I can hear the right wing screeching about this on the television circuit today and tomorrow as a call to action by the Socialists. Hah. Of course, President Obama will be blamed for the ugly rhetoric uttered by Jimmy Hoffa Jr., as though he could control what he said. Oh, well, next controversy…..
Caution: There is some rumbling that Fox News edited Jimmy Hoffa’s speech and took a line out making it sound like a call for violence. Of course Megyn Kelly ran with it, along with her panel, which included Brad Blakemon, who described it as “thuggery.” Here is Jimmy Hoffa’s actual statement:
HOFFA: Everybody here’s got to vote. If we go back and keep the eye on the prize, let’s take these son of a bitches out and give America back to America where we belong! Thank you very much!
