Drudge Report Calls Out President Obama Over Costly Dinner at Alan Wong's (Alan Wong)

Conservative blogger Keith Koffler calls out President Obama and his party for dining at Alan Wong’s in Hawaii. The Drudge Report ran with this and linked to the story under the caption: ‘Middle-class warrior’ dines on bacon-wrapped pork — for $260…’  TOf course, neither Keith Koffler nor Matt Drudge were with the president and his party to make the assertion that the meal was about $260 a piece. They just want to slander the president, by any means necessary.

According to the pool report, the Obamas and their friends dined on the five-course “tasting menu” that was tasty to the tune of $75 a person, $105 with wine. Among the highlights were “Sassey Salad” and bacon wrapped pork loin.

I’m going to go out on a pretty firm limb here and say they had wine. That brings the bill for two to $210. Add in Hawaii’s 4 percent sales tax and we’re at $219.40. Let’s assume a 20 percent tip at the very least and the total comes to just over $260.

I have heard of bitching, but this is just ridiculous. First The Drudge Report and Naked DC acted like crabs in a barrel over Michelle Obama’s $2K sundress, then the UK Daily Mail, as if they have no issues to worry about in the United Kingdom, bitched about her $1K skirt. Now this? I guess if he pulled up to McDonald’s or a Church’s Chicken, then we wouldn’t hear peep from the right wing.

  • Idiot, you just dont get it…

    • Iran Aware — I’m the idiot? Or are you really talking about yourself?

      • No, I was definitely referring to you..

  • Pelmo

We both agree that what they do with their own money is their  buisness, and it only becomes our buisness when it involves the tax payers money. But this vacation and all the others the president or his wife have taken are pure PR blunders. Just today on  the news they were talking about how he has lost all the young voters that swept him into office, and how they will stay away from the polls. The magic has gone from his speeches as people see him saying one thing and doing another.

    • Pelmo — I hear you. I do agree that President Obama and his wife didn’t have to take separate trips to Hawaii. It’s not like Michelle Obama had something pressing to do there. She could have waited until he was ready. It was just a matter of days. I think the young voters are on the fence. Obama is safe with the Latino and black votes at this juncture but that won’t be enough to guarantee reelection.
