President Obama Ordered to Appear in Georgia Court Over Birth Certificate

A Georgia man managed to convince an administrative judge that his lawsuit warranted dragging President Obama before him to prove his eligibility to run for the presidency. The plaintiff said he wants to see President Obama’s late mother’s OB-GYN records or his hospital file. Um, really? Does his mother still have her OB-GYN file? Before you say this wingnut’s actions are racially motivated, he said if Mitt Romney is the GOP presidential nominee, he intends to file a similar lawsuit against him, since his father, George Romney was born in Mexico.

The hearing is set for Thursday  and comes after Deputy Chief Judge Michael Malihi denied a motion by the president’s lawyer last Friday to quash a subpoena that requires Obama to show up. It’s amazing at how low we have sunk in this country.

Black Conservative FL Pastor O’Neal Dozier: Mormon Church Racist, Americans Won’t Vote for Mormon as POTUS

Black Conservative FL Pastor O'Neal Dozier: Mormon Church Racist, Americans Won't Vote for Mormon as POTUS

Just when I thought Rick Santorum realized insulting the black and Latino community will backfire, he does it again, in an indirect way. According to the Palm Beach Post, conservative black pastor Rev. O’Neal Dozier, who leads Pompano Beach’s Worldwide Christian Center, said Mitt Romney cannot win the presidency because Americans won’t vote for a Mormon president. Rev. O’Neal Dozier, who is  a staunch critic of homosexuality and radical Islam, hosted Rick Santorum at the church during his first campaign stop in Florida.

“You can look at the June Gallup poll that shows the people have already spoken – 22 percent of the electorate will not vote for a Mormon,” Dozier said. “The American people will not vote for a Mormon to be president of the United States.”

Dozier said a Republican will need at least 10 percent of the black vote to win the presidency.

“Blacks are not going to vote for anyone of the Mormon faith,” Dozier said. “The book of Mormon says the Negro skin is cursed.”From 1849 through 1978 the Church of Latter-Day Saints barred blacks from its priesthood. The church has lifted but not repudiated the policy. Source

Rev. O’Neal Dozier is stuck on stupid. That’s the only way to explain his comments.I guess he wouldn’t want to see a Muslim American as president. This is the same person who said homosexuality was “something so nasty and disgusting that it makes God want to vomit.” I wonder what Rick Santorum has to say about his honorary Florida chairman, Rev. O’Neal Dozier spewing so much venom. Way to pick them Rick Santorum. Of all the black leaders to stand with, you picked a real bigot.

Mitt Romney Throws First Punch in Florida Calls on Newt Gingrich to Release Freddie Mac Contract

Mitt Romney throws the first punch in Florida at the surging Newt Gingrich, fresh off his South Carolina primary win. I would love to hear Newt Gingrich explanation about his association with Freddie Mac in the state of Florida, which has been badly hit by foreclosures. The $1.6 million dollars  Newt Gingrich earned from Freddie Mac is a slap in the face of Americans who lost their homes to foreclosure. I would love to know what advice he was giving the mortgage giant that could lead to such a big payday. Romney lit into Newt Gingrich’s record as House speaker, though Gingrich would have you believe he presided over the fall of the Soviet Union with President Ronald Reagan and was a no-nonsense House leader. Um, wrong. He was a hypocrite and a hot mess.

“At the end of four years (as speaker), it was proven that he was as failed leader. And he had to resign in disgrace. I don’t know whether you knew that,” Romney said, referring to a 1997 House reprimand of Gingrich for ethics violations, which also resulted in a $300,000 fine.

“Well, what’s he been doing for 15 years? He’s been working as a lobbyist, yeah. He’s been working as a lobbyist and selling influence around Washington. He’s been working for Freddie Mac. Heard of those guys?” Romney said, in a state where housing foreclosures, including some presided over by the mortgage giant, have left the economy in tatters.

He called on Gingrich to release the records of his contract with Freddie Mac, which paid him more than $1.6 million over eight years. “What was his work product there? What was he doing at Freddie Mac? Because Freddie Mac figures very prominently into the fact that people in Florida have seen home values go down. It’s time to turn that around!” Romney said. Source

The people of Florida should demand answers from all three candidates, especially Newt Gingrich, who was so closely tied to the Freddie Mac. Newt Gingrich should release his contract with Freddie Mac and answer questions about the ethics investigation. He sidestepped the issue of fidelity to his spouses, blaming the media. But if you are a person of integrity, then you hold him accountable for these actions, particularly since he literally tried to hang former president Bill Clinton on the gallows while he was engaging in adultery with jump-off Callista Gingrich. I have a big problem with a woman who was once someone’s mistress entertaining thoughts of becoming our next First Lady. They can say a lot of things about Michelle Obama,  but jump-off she was not.

NJ Gov. Chris Christie: Newt Gingrich an Embarrassment to Republican Party

The Newt Gingrich bashing has started, mere hours after he pulled out a major upset of Mitt Romney in the South Carolina primary.  Romney surrogate, NJ governor Chris Christie said Newt Gingrich had been “run out of his speakership by his own party” and is an “embarrassment” to the Republican Party. He said on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” “I think Newt Gingrich has embarrassed the party, over time. Governor Romney never has.”

When pressed on how Gingrich had embarrassed the Republican party, Christie mentioned said that Gingrich had been pressured to resign from the House of Representatives in 1998 and had been fined for House ethics violations.

“We all know the record,” Christie added. “I mean he was run out of the speakership by his own party, he was fined $300,000 for ethics violations. This is a guy that’s had a very difficult career at times and has been an embarrassment to the party.”

Christie suggested the former House speaker’s record could predict what he would be like as president.  “I’m not saying he will do it again in the future, but sometimes past is prologue,” Christie said.  Source: The Hill

I am no big fan of Chris Christie, but I do agree with him that sometimes “past is prologue.” Newt Gingrich is an egomaniac who likes to hear himself speak. I won’t call him a racist, but he’s one of the biggest hypocrites we have seen in a long time. I would almost be willing to bet that Rick Santorum, despite all the strange things he has said in the past, would be a far more credible presidential candidate than admitted adulterer Newt Gingrich.

Singer Alicia Keys’ husband Swizz Beatz is tangled up in the Megaupload mess. He faces possible questioning by the FBI since he’s listed as the CEO for the file-sharing web site that was shut down by the feds Thursday over Internet piracy claims. The owner of Megaupload,  Kim Dotcom, 37, was arrested at his New  Zealand mansion and was found in a panic room with a loaded gun in his possession. Swizz Beatz was not named in the 72 page indictment filed by the Justice Department, but since he’s the CEO (which seems to be just a title and nothing else), he may be questioned about what he knew. The New York Post is reporting that Swizz Beatz is considering hiring a criminal defense lawyer. Kim Dotcom and his cronies face up to 50 years in prison if convicted for this massive copyright infringement scheme.

Two Marist College students and a friend, Kevin Johnson, died after a fire erupted in the 99 year old home in which they were staying. Police has withheld the names of all three victims, but a woman who identified herself as a family member, Jaime Celona, said her cousin Kerry Fitzsimons of Commack, Long Island, had died in the fire, the Poughkeepsie Journal reports. Four people survived by jumping through a window. The six female residents and three male friends had reportedly gathered for a dinner party and went to bed shortly after midnight.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of Kerry Fitzsimons, Eva Block and Kevin Johnson. This is such a tragedy and these three young adults have departed this world far too soon. We pray their families will find solace and treasure the happy times they spent with these three promising adults. Again, our thoughts and prayers go out to the families, friends and communities.

Joe Paterno, Former Penn State Football Coach, Dies After Short Battle with Lung Cancer (Wikipedia)

Disgraced former Penn State coach Joe Paterno died Sunday morning after a short battle with lung cancer. He was 85 years old. The family released a statement to announce his death:

“His loss leaves a void in our lives that will never be filled.””He died as he lived,” the statement said. “He fought hard until the end, stayed positive, thought only of others and constantly reminded everyone of how blessed his life had been. His ambitions were far reaching, but he never believed he had to leave this Happy Valley to achieve them. He was a man devoted to his family, his university, his players and his community.” Source

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Joe Paterno. It is a sad end to an otherwise stellar career. The cloud of Jerry Sandusky won’t diminish the role he played at Penn State, but it will overshadow his legacy somewhat.
