Cobb GA Mother Chuntera Napier Charged with Child Cruelty After Getting 10 YO Son Gaquan Napier Tattooed

Cobb County, Ga., mother Chuntera Napier was charged with child cruelty for allowing her 10 year old son, Gaquan Napier, to get a tattoo. She said she thought that giving parental consent was enough and that she was not breaking the law, WSB-TV reports. Um, I have a 14 year old son and I would NEVER even entertain the idea of him having a tattoo at that age, much less to break the law by allowing him to get a tattoo. But that’s just my opinion. Chuntera Napier said the tattoo was in honor of her late son, Malik, who was killed by a teenage driver in Macon two years ago.

    1) Mama has tats thus providing a reference of “norm”

    2) Mama  said “Don’t be a hater”.  “I wouldn’t think of telling someone else what to do with their child, why do they have a righ to tell me what TO DO?’ (Putting the law aside for a minuTE)

    3) She asked “What can you tell a 10 year old?……….”
SHE did not have the consciousnesses of mind to see that the answer to her rhetorical question is “NO!!  Go and draw up an image to be placed on a t-shirt for him instead.  Use the ‘puter in the back bedroom that used to be your brother’s room”.

Babies do not come with a manual…. How was she supposed to know that the tatoo was illegal? It was the tatoo artist, if anyone, who should be held responsible for the ‘cruelty’ done.

We peirce kids ears and circumcise them; these a painful procedures but we believe that the conciensious or moral reasoning behind it outweighs the pain.

I am sure the kid could have quit when he realized the pain involved but he stuck it out. If this is how he choses to grieve and carry his brother with him, so be it.
