Ebenezer Baptist Church Pastor Raphael Warnock: “Newt Gingrich Knows A Lot About Welfare, Gets it from Freddie Mac”

Ebenezer Baptist Church pastor Raphael Warnock slammed Newt Gingrich during Sunday services for his comments about blacks and foodstamps. He said, “”Mr. Gingrich knows a lot about Welfare. The [poor get] their Welfare from TANF. He gets his from Freddie Mac,” referring to Gingrich’s stint as a consultant with the lender.

“We know what this is. It’s the same racist rhetoric,” Warnock said, calling the state’s former congressman our “Georgia home boy.”

He gets his from Freddie Mac,” Warnock said referring to the former speaker’s previous position as a consultant with the lender. ”They get $160 a week and he gets $1.6 million, Mr. Gingrich, let there be Welfare reform and let it begin with you,” Wornack said. Damn, Rev. Raphael Warnock certainly lit into Newt Gingrich. I guess he won’t be getting a visit from Newt Gingrich for his photo op with the black community when he comes to Georgia ahead of the primary, assuming he’ll last until March 6.

    What kind of Rev. or anyone who calls themselves representing God, uses
    distortions and generalizations as a tool, for division? Yes, I agree there is
    time when one must speak out for ALL HUMANITY…but who’s path and way as Human
    will one take to achieve that ideal? Remember Barabbas who stood tall against
    the Roman oppressors of Israel and then their was Jesus….Who’s path do we
    follow today, Barabbas or Jesus?…Which one has stood the test of time?…You
