Penelope D. Springer kills husband Albert E. Springer and then turns the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide in Metairie, La.
“This has all the earmarks of a murder-suicide where she shot her husband first and then turned the gun on herself,” Col. John Fortunato said.
“Upon making entry, the body of a male subject (identified as Albert E. Springer W/M, 61) was discovered in the front bathroom. He sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. Upon continuing a search of the residence our officers discovered a female in the rear bathroom. She also sustained a single gunshot wound.” Source
It is very rare that women are committing such crimes, but the incidence of murder-suicides are increasing and it is alarming. Just Sunday a Fresno mother killed her two children and another male in her apartment, before killing herself in a triple murder-suicide and stabbing her live-in boyfriend.
