Philadelphia mayor Michael Nutter had some strong words for Axel Barreto, who was arrested for a reprisal shooting that left three teens dead, calling him “a dog.” He also had some choice words for the parents of Philly’s seven teens, “not to act like idiots and assholes.” Tell ‘em Mayor Michael Nutter. Some of the worst elements of society call Philadelphia home and I can imagine how frustrating it must be to deal with this mess on a daily basis. He said the teens who were killed Tuesday night were looking for trouble and they found it in a trigger-happy parent, Axel Barreto.
“Seven young people, somewhere between 14 and 16 years old, on a Tuesday night, a school night, are out in a car going to somewhere to have a fight with some other teenager. That is completely insane, it is irresponsible. Parents have to know where their children are and what they are doing,” the mayor said. Source: CBS Philadelphia
Axel Barreto wounded four of the seven teens. Two of the teens, Javier Orlandi and Joshua Soto, were pronounced dead at St. Christopher’s Hospital just before 11 p.m. Tuesday, while Dante Lugo died Wednesday night. Axel Barreto, who has a long rap sheet, including at least seven arrests since 2000, confessed to killing the teens. As sad as this is, Javier Orlandi, Joshua Soto, Dante Lugo and the other four teens were up to no good when they met their match. However, Axel Barreto was the adult and should have acted accordingly. He could have broken up the fight and dealt with the disagreement by being a man, a decent man. But instead, he pulled out a gun and fired indiscriminately, showing that he had little regard for human life and yes, that makes him worst than a rabid dog.
