Two of the victims killed in a murder-suicide in Coronado, Calif., near the Coronado Naval Base have been identified as siblings David Reis and Karen Reis. The other two deceased, two males, ages 25 and 31, have not been identified.
David, 25, was a Navy F/A-18 pilot in training at Miramar Marine Corps Air Station, said his father, Tom Reis of Bakersfield. The pilot graduated from the University of New Mexico with a mechanical engineering degree and was commissioned as a naval officer in September 2008, his father said Monday in a telephone interview.
Karen Reis, 24, was a University of California San Diego volleyball player. Afterward, she stayed in San Diego and served as an assistant high school volleyball coach and worked at Trader Joe’s, her father said. Source
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of David and Karen Reis. What a sad way to start the new year. Stay tuned for updates.
