Two people were found shot to death in an apparent murder-suicide at a Helotes (hel-OH’-tis), in the San Antonio area. The bodies of a Zeferina Castillo, 54, and Manuel Rodriguez, 51, were found near the altar Wednesday afternoon at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church.
The couple was captured on security cameras as they approached the altar. A handgun was found at the scene, KENS5 reports. Neither Zeferina Castillo nor Manuel Rodriguez were members of the church.
Castillo and Rodriguez were not parishioners at the church and did not live in Helotes. Zeferina Castillo was the owner and president of Castillo Mission Funeral Home, KSAT reports.
