John Caffrey, 48, of Indianapolis, fatally shot his long-time friend Derek Tully before turning the gun on himself in an apparent murder-suicide at a home in the 10000 block of Courageous Drive in the Geist Reservoir area early Sunday morning, WTHR reports.
Investigators believe that the two victims have been mutual friends for a long period of time, and they may have been involved in an on-going dispute. Investigators preliminarily believe that John Caffrey entered the house of Derek Tully and shot him. John then exited the house and then apparently shot himself.
The Marion County Crime Lab has recovered the weapon and no other injuries were reported. Investigators continue to talk with witnesses and consider this an on-going investigation. Source
