Five People Dead in Murder-Suicide at Su Jung Health Sauna on Buford Hwy in Norcross GA

NEWSFLASH:  Five people are dead in what appears to be a murder-suicide Tuesday night at Su Jung Health Sauna on Buford Highway in Norcross, GA. The shooting reportedly took place in the 6000 block of Buford Highway. The GBI has been called in to assist the Gwinnett police in the investigation. The spa is owned by Kang Byong Ok (Byoung Kang).

Police officers found five victims in the Korean-style spa, three males  and two females all of Asian descent. Four of the victims were declared dead at the scene, while the fifth was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The spa is apparently run by a husband and a wife.  Surveillance video showed a man walking into the spa on Tuesday night and getting into an argument with someone, then opening fire, police said. The deaths aren’t random and could be domestic related.

UPDATE#1:  11 Alive: The pastor of Kang Byong Ok, the man who owned a Norcross spa where a deadly shooting took place Tuesday night, tells 11Alive News money problems may have been involved in the murders.

Pastor Paul Song Kim of Fire and the light Korean Baptist Church said the shooter killed the spa owner, his wife, his sister-in-law and brother-in-law before taking his own life.

Court documents identify the owner of the Su Jung Beauty Health & Sauna as Kang Byong Ok. Police, however, have not released the identities of the victims or the gunman.

Kim said the shooter’s wife had subleased a space in the hair salon portion of the spa at 6005 Buford Highway, and that business wasn’t doing well. Court documents revealed several liens on the property.
