Another parent going berserk over a youth basketball game. Police says Shelly Miller , a resident of Michigan City, was arrested and charged with Class C felony battery after he punched the assistant basketball coach at St. Stanislaus School until he became unconscious. The incident occurred after two players got into an altercation during practice and were punished by being made to run laps inside the gym.
First we had Timothy Lee Forbes who bit off a part of the coach’s ear at a Massachusetts school. Now we have this fool. Shelly Miller, who is one of the parents of the two players, became enraged when he arrived at the school and found out what happened.
WSBT: Shelly Miller approached assistant coach Jeffrey Yackus and punched him. Yackus was knocked to the ground and police say Miller climbed on top of him and continued punching him in the face and head, rendering him unconscious.
Head coach Robert Johnson stopped Miller, who then left the school. Yackus was taken to the hospital to be treated for a concussion. After an investigation Miller was arrested on Friday and charged with battery. His bond was set at $15,000.
Another thug parent who is teaching his daughter the wrong way of dealing with conflict. You don’t punch someone until they are unconscious to solve a problem. What a loser. He should have been charged with a more severe crime, considering he could have caused brain damage in the victim.
