Democracy Now:  “The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Navi Pillay, has called for an immediate investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin. Pillay said she was shocked the gunman, George Zimmerman, was not arrested. She also expressed concern about Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law, which allows the use of deadly force in situations where there is a belief of a threat.”

The last thing we need is the U.N. getting involved in our issues when there is so much more presenting human rights issues occurring around the world. SMH

She has no right injecting her unwanted self in State issues.  We like our laws in Florida.  How dare she suggest she has a right to come to my country and state and tell us how we must live?  I don’t think she understands the depth of the American resolve to retain our sovereignty.  We have said we reject the UN in several polls and other public documentation.  The UN has no power in Florida.

Kevn S — I think the U.N. has far more pressing issues to worry about, such as the mess in Syria, Mali and other countries, where true human rights violations occur on a daily basis.
