Stanislaus County Deputy Sheriff Robert Paris Killed Serving Eviction Notice at Whispering Woods Apartment Complex

FALLEN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER: Deputy Sheriff Robert Paris was fatally shot while he and another deputy were serving an eviction notice at an apartment in the Whispering Woods apartment complex in Modesto, Calif. Deputy Sheriff Robert Paris, 53, and the other deputy were trying to enter the residence at about 11 a.m. Thursday when the suspect opened fire, killing the deputy and a civilian, the Modesto Bee reports.

Deputy Sheriff Robert Paris served with the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department for 16 years. He is survived by his parents, brother and two adult children. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
