Gay Porn Star Cannibal Luka Magnotta On Run After Male Friend Chopped Up and Eaten in Canada

ANOTHER CANNIBAL ATTACK:  Something is terribly wrong in our society when we have not one, but three cannibal attacks in the news. Gay porn star Luka Magnotta is on the run after a male friend, Jun Lin,  was chopped up and eaten in Canada. Police fear he may be heading back to London. Magnotta is believed to have sent a chilling email to The Sun saying, “I’ll be back — and this time the victims won’t be animals.” He had previously sent the newspaper a video of a live kitten fed to a snake and an accompanying email, warning:  “Once you kill and taste blood it’s impossible to stop.” That was six months ago. The police dropped the case saying it was outside their jurisdiction. Interpol has issued a warrant for his arrest.

And last night the twisted gay porn star was being hunted across the world after a severed hand and a foot were mailed to the offices of two political parties in Canada.

A headless male torso was found in a suitcase dumped in rubbish behind Magnotta’s shabby apartment in Montreal. Last night he was believed by cops to have fled back to Europe — possibly heading for London. The baby-faced weirdo was placed on the FBI and Interpol “Most Wanted” lists — as police discovered a grisly video thought to be live footage of the murder. Kinyua lived in the same home as the missing man and human body parts were found inside thehome and in a nearby dumpster. He admitted to eating portions of the man’s body parts, including his heart and portions of the brain.

Last Saturday Rudy Eugene was shot to death after police found him eating the face of a homeless man, Ronald Poppo, on the MacArthur Causeway in Miami, Fla. Police suspect he may have been on “bath salts.” Ronald Poppo is listed in critical condition with 75% of his face gone. Three cannibals in less than a week! Jesus take the wheel.

BREAKING NEWS:  Verdict Reached in John Edwards Trial. The jury has reached a verdict in the federal corruption trial of the former Democratic presidential candidate. The jury reached its verdict after nine days of deliberations.

Edwards, a former U.S. senator, was charged with accepting illegal campaign contributions, falsifying documents and conspiring to receive and conceal the contributions. The charges he faces carry a maximum sentence of 30 years in prison and a $1.5 million fine.

The jury reached a verdict on one of six counts and were sent back by the judge to deliberate on the remaining counts. It is not clear what verdict the jury reached on the single count or which count that was.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice Endorses Mitt Romney, Cites His Leadership Abilities

Condoleezza Rice Endorses Mitt Romney, Cites His Leadership Abilities(Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice endorsed Mitt Romney for president citing his leadership abilities. Rice, who has often been mentioned as a possible vice presidential pick for Romney because of her vast foreign policy experience, endorsed Romney as he appeared at a fundraiser in California last night, saying he understand the nation’s special place in the world. It would be interesting to now hear who Colin Powell will endorse. I believe he will also endorse Mitt Romney.

“If America is going to rebuild its strength at home, rebuild its sense of who we are, it needs a leader that also understands how really exceptional the United States of America is, and is not afraid to lead on the basis of that exceptionalism,” Rice told about 300 donors. “The only thing that people dislike more than unilateral American leadership is no American leadership at all.” Source

Condoleezza Rice would be a more credible vice presidential pick because should could also help him secure women’s votes and potentially draw black voters, who have largely been loyal to President Obama. While some blacks view her as a “sell-out” for working with George W. Bush, I think she brings a lot to the table and should be admired for what she has done for this country. I don’t think the black votes would flee from Obama on her behalf, but nonetheless, she would be a great vice presidential pick. She would be one reason I would give Mitt Romney a second look. She is far more credible than the current vice president Joe Biden.

Gov. Rick Scott’s Brazen Attempt at Voter Suppression a Throwback to Black Disenfranchisement in1960s

Official photo of Florida Governor Rick Scott

Gov. Rick Scott's Brazen Attempt at Voter Suppression a Throwback to Black Disenfranchisement in 1960s (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Americans everywhere should be worried about the brazen attempt at voter suppression in Florida, presided over by the Republicans, led by Gov. Rick Scott and Secretary of State Ken Detzner. It is a sad commentary that Bill Internicola, a 91-year old World War II veteran, is being targeted as a potential noncitizen. He was ordered to prove his citizenship or lose the right to vote, NPR reports. You see, Bill Internicola was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY, but now lives in Broward county. The fact that a Republican governor is instructing his Secretary of State to engage in voter suppression, which will overwhelmingly affect black and Hispanic voters is eerily reminiscent of the dark ages of overt racism in America. Why is this troublesome? Florida happens to be a battleground state, where the number of voters that could be prevented from casting ballots could exceed the margin of error in the razor-thin election, and could help determine the next U.S. president. You see, this is familiar. We went down this same road in 2000 when the hot mess in Florida, with hanging chads, partial chads, etc., saw the presidency handed to one of this country’s worst presidents — George W. Bush with 537 votes.

Internicola says he was “flabbergasted.” “To me, it’s like an insult,” he says. “They sent me a form to fill out. And I filled out the form and I sent it back to them with a copy of my discharge paper and a copy of my tour of duty in the ETO, which is the European Theater of Operations.” Internicola’s was one of more than 180,000 names Florida’s secretary of state identified from motor vehicle records as possible noncitizens. Several weeks ago, the secretary’s office sent county elections supervisors a first batch of some 2,600 names. County officials, who are also preparing for the state’s August primary, started sending out letters to suspected noncitizens, saying they had 30 days to prove their citizenship or be removed from the voting rolls. Source:  NPR

The latest purge in Florida follows new voting restrictions passed by Florida Republicans last year, leading to the disenfranchisement of 100,000 previously eligible ex-felons, whose voting rights had been restored by former GOP governor Charlie Crist in 2008. The state leadership also shut down non-partisan voter registration drives and cutting back on early voting. The end result is that such drastic measures will work against the Democratic voter turnout in November.  The Republicans are pushing their voter suppression, which is discriminatory, under the guise of reducing “voter fraud.” You and I know that a lot of bullshit, because it will play to the advantage of the Republicans, or Rethuglicans, as I like to call them. It is pretty damning that after the 2010 election,  Gov. Rick Scott instructed then-Secretary of State Ken Browning to compile a massive database of alleged “non-citizen” voters. Browning resigned in February rather than implement Gov. Scott’s plan, saying “we were not confident enough about the information for this secretary to hang his hat on it.” In early May, Scott found a stool pigeon in Browning’s successor, Ken Detzner, who happens to be a former beer-industry lobbyist. Detzner announced a list of 182,000 suspected non-citizens to be removed from the voting rolls, along with 50,000 apparently dead voters in early May. The state mailed out the first batch of 2,600 letters on May 8, informing residents, “you are not a United States citizen; however you are registered to vote.” Um, well, that batch was riddled with inaccuracies. But do you think Rick Scott and his lackeys care? Hell no.

It seems like Gov. Rick Scott and all those Republican leaders across the country who are trying to engage in voter suppression have forgotten the reason why the Voting Rights Act of 1965 was signed into law by President Lyndon Johnson in the first place. The landmark piece of legislation outlawed discriminatory voting practices that were responsible for the widespread disenfranchisement of blacks in the U.S. The law specifically outlaws states from “voting qualification or prerequisite to voting, or standard, practice, or procedure … to deny or abridge the right of any citizen of the United States to vote on account of race or color.” The Republicans in Florida are now using different tactics to engage in brazen discrimination. Back in the 1960s, one requirement was one had to pass a literacy test in order to register to vote. Well, given the history of blacks in the South, reading was not something the white man wanted them to know how to do. It is clear that the voting rolls must be cleaned up across this country, but you can’t disenfranchise people who have the legal right to vote in the process. Gov. Rick Scott should be ashamed of himself to pull this trick out of his hat at this juncture, with the election mere months away. This is discrimination, plain and simple. We all know how badly run government offices are and many people, even though they will have followed the instructions on the letter, won’t get to vote come November. I can’t stress enough to my readers the importance of voting in local elections. An idiot like Rick Scott should never have won the Florida gubernatorial elections. A lot of crazy stuff goes on in Florida, from Casey Anthony being set free for her daughter’s murder, to Miami causeway cannibal Rudy Eugene chewing off the face of homeless man Ronald Poppo. UPDATED: Four Dead, Two Wounded in Seattle, Gunman Ian Stawicki in Dead from Self-Inflicted Gunshot Wound to Head (KOMO)

SEATTLE QUADRUPLE MURDER-SUICIDE: Ian Stawicki, 40 of Ellensburgshot five people, killing three and wounding two, at the Cafe Racer Espresso near the University District Wednesday. He then later killed a woman in downtown Seattle and is now in critical condition at Seattle’s Harborview Medical Center after shooting himself in the head on a southwest Seattle street, The Seattle Times is reporting Ian Lee Stawicki’s brother, Andrew Stawicki, 29, of Ellensburg, said was mentally ill. He told the newspaper, “It’s no surprise to me this happened. We could see this coming. Nothing good is going to come with that much anger inside of you.”

One of the victims of Ian Stawicki’s shooting rampage has been identified as Gloria Leonias (also identified as Gloria Koch), a married mother of two. She worked at Electrical Reps West in Seattle, according to media reports. Koch was confronted in the parking lot of her workplace by Stawicki, after he fled the scene of the first shooting, police said. He shot her in the head and stole her Mercedes-Benz SUV, Q13Fox reports.

It is a sad turn of events that innocent people have lost their lives. So far this year, 20 people have been killed in Seattle. KOMO News reports that just last week Justin Ferrari, a software developer, was killed after being struck by a stray bullet. It is ironic that this story hasn’t made the Drudge Report. I wonder why? Stay tuned. More to follow.

UPDATE#1 (05/31/12):  Ian Stawicki died in the hospital. Also killed are:  Drew Keriakedes and Joseph Vito Albanse, members of the band God’s Favorite Beefcake, KOMO News reports.

Rush Limbaugh Slams Toni Morrison Medal of Freedom Award Over Clinton ‘First Black President’ Comment

WASHINGTON, DC - MAY 29: Novelist Toni Morris...

Rush Limbaugh Slams Toni Morrison Medal of Freedom Award Over Clinton 'First Black President' Comment (Image credit: Getty Images via @daylife)

Rush Limbaugh slams Presidential Medal of Freedom recipient Toni Morrison, calling her a Socialist and mocking her comments that former president Bill Clinton was the first black president, Wednes on his syndicated radio show.  It’s actually a little funny that she made those comments years ago, only to accept such an award from the first black president. Here are Rush Limbaugh’s words:

Here’s what Toni Morrison said: “White skin notwithstanding, this is our first black President. Blacker than any actual black person who could ever be elected in our children’s lifetime. After all, Clinton displays almost every trope of blackness: single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald’s-and-junk-food-loving boy from Arkansas.”

That woman who said that, who wrote that, got the Presidential Medal of Freedom yesterday.  And she’s not even right.  She said blacker than any actual black person who could ever be elected in our children’s lifetimes.  Sorry, Obama came along and rendered her wrong.  Not going there, Snerdley.  You can say it all you want.  I’m not going there.  Snerdley wants me to zero in on the blacker than any actual black person, and he thinks the jury is still out on thisNo, no, no.  All I know is that all Bill Clinton had to do to qualify as the first black president is to display almost every trope of blackness.  Here is a civil rights leader and this is what being black is to her.  Single-parent household, born poor, working-class, saxophone-playing, McDonald’s-and-junk-food-loving boy.  And you throw in from Arkansas.  And she wins the Presidential Medal of Freedom, along with Dolores Huerta. Source

The so-called love affair many blacks had with former president Bill Clinton ended during the 2008 presidential campaign when many perceived his “fairy-tale” remark about the Obama campaign as a denigration of then presidential-candidate Barack Obama. Toni Morrison’s comment that Bill Clinton was the face of the black experience in this country wasn’t completely wrong, particularly of those then and today who are growing up in a single-parent household and many born poor. There is nothing socialistic or racist about that.  Call Bill Clinton what ever you want, he knew what it was like to grow up poor. Lost on Rush Limbaugh is the fact that Toni Morrison has enriched many lives with her books and in her classes.

Polish PM Donald Tusk Demands Apology from Obama for “Polish Death Camps” Comment

Donald Tusk at the Karlspreis-award 2010 Polsk...

Polish PM Donald Tusk Demands Obama Apology for "Polish Death Camps" Comment (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

President Obama pulls a Marion Barry by insulting Poles with his reference to Nazi death camps as “Polish death camps.” President Obama was referring to the Nazi facility used to process Jews for extermination as a “Polish death camp.” The White House later said Obama “misspoke” and expressed “regret.” Now Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk is demanding an apology, saying Obama’s words hurt all Poles and he expected more from Washington D.C. than just “regret.”

Wow, that must have been a kick in the gut of  family of Jan Karski, a former Polish underground officer who was honored with a posthumous award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, for providing early eyewitness accounts of Nazi Germany’s genocide of European Jews. This error was just awful. I guess that’s what happens when there’s no teleprompter in the room.

I will admit this gaffe was awful. Really awful and Obama should be asked about it at the next press conference or other event where journalists are present. Polish Foreign Minister Radek Sikorski tweeted: “The White House will apologize for this outrageous error. It’s a pity that this important ceremony was upstaged by ignorance and incompetence.”

Statement from Prime Minister Donald Tusk:

“I am convinced that our American friends can today allow themselves a stronger reaction than a simple expression of regret from the White House spokesman — a reaction more inclined to eliminate once and for all these kinds of errors.”

Niles Gardiner (Glenn Beck chum) had this to say in his U.K. Telegraph column:

President Obama has a long track record of insulting the Poles. In 2010 he chose to play golf on the day of the funeral of the Polish President Lech Kaczynski, the Polish First Lady, and 94 senior officials who perished in the Smolensk air disaster. Eight months earlier he humiliated Warsaw by pulling out of the agreement over Third Site missile defence installations in Poland and the Czech Republic.

You will recall Marion Barry referred to Poles as “polacks” during his apology to the Korean and Filippino community for racially-insensitive comments he made. Wow, and people think VP Joe Biden is the only gaffe-machine in this administration….

Obama Campaign Assaults Mitt Romney’s Record as Governor, But What About Obama’s Record on Economy?

Mitt Romney, former governor of Massachusetts,...

Obama Campaign Assaults Mitt Romney's Record as Governor, But What About Obama's Record on Economy?(Photo credit: Wikipedia)

The Obama reelection campaign is taking a swing at Mitt Romney in a new way by focusing on his mediocre record as governor of the state of Massachusetts, ABC News reports:

The new effort focuses on Romney’s record as governor “and the campaign promises Democrats say he left unfulfilled. Team Obama will point to Romney’s rhetoric on job creation, size of government, education, deficits and taxes during the 2002 gubernatorial campaign and draw parallels with his presidential stump speeches of 2012. The goal is to illustrate that Romney has made the same promises before with unimpressive results.”

He also opposes tax increases of any kind in his bid for the White House, writing in a USA Today op-ed earlier this year, “As president, I will firmly oppose tax increases.”

But as notes, the “Massachusetts Department of Administration and Finance says that fee increases during Romney’s tenure added up to $260 million per year, with another $174 million raised from closing some corporate tax ‘loopholes.’ The independent Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation puts the revenue total of fee hikes and tax loophole-closings at between $740 and $750 million a year.”

Romney’s claim that he stood by a no-new-taxes pledge as governor was judged by the libertarian Cato institute to be “mostly a myth.”

Similarly, Romney pledged as a candidate ten years ago to reduce the size of government; on the campaign trail he says he achieved that.  ”We didn’t just slow the rate of our government, we actually cut it,” he told CBN earlier this month. It’s true that Romney cut 603 jobs from of agencies under his direct control, as the Boston Globe noted in 2007 — but overall the size of government grew.

Um, be that as it may, mediocre governor and all, that could backfire on Obama, since many will say he has been horrible on the economy, though he inherited some of the mess. He owns it now and doesn’t have much to show for it. I would venture to say, if the unemployment level is still hovering above nine percent come September, then Obama should be very worried about losing the election.

Greg Sargent: “Obama needs to persuade voters to do more than simply accept Romney as an alternative to the economic status quo who’s worth taking a flyer on. He needs to get them to look past general impressions of Romney’s competence and to realize that Romney is offering an actual set of policies and ideas about the economy that have been tried before. His ‘Mr. Fix It’ aura — which is rooted in the pitch that he can translate private sector know-how to the public sector — is belied by his actual record as a public official.”

I am all for hitting Mitt Romney on the issues and the “record” which he claims is second to none, but it can also backfire, thanks to the lackluster economy. Believe me, I am not thrilled with either Obama or Romney and it’s hard for me to say at this juncture that I am squarely behind either of the two men. We are faced with two mediocre choices.
