Liberal comedian Bill Maher took on Tea Party wingnut Rep. Allen West (R-FL) on HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher Friday night, objecting to West using his name in letters soliciting campaign donations. Rep. West claims in his literature that Bill Maher called him an ape. Well, I wouldn’t call Rep. Allen West an ape. He’s more of a total moron. Rep. Allen West should know he can’t win with Bill Maher, who has said some pretty misogynistic things in the past.

Separately, Bill Maher suggested that Mitt Romney pick George Zimmerman, the overzealous neighborhood watch captain charged with second degree murder in the death of teen Trayvon Martin. The comedian said Romney’s campaign theme should be, “I think the black guy is up to no good.” He started his New Rule by joking that Romney must wait until he gets back from vacation before choosing a running mate. The show is about to go on hiatus for the summer. Maher admitted that deep down he secretly wants Mitt Romney to win because he is a goldmine of comedic material.

Bill Maher responds to Rep. Allen West:

Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’s Witness Protection’ is an Enormous Ma-Dud, Time for Madea to Retire

Madea's Witness Protection

Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’s Witness Protection’ is an Enormous Ma-Dud

MOVIE REVIEW:  Tyler Perry should have hung up his dress and wig with “Madea’s Family Reunion” and not prolong the agony of another film starring angry big, black mammy, Madea, who is always mad at the world. The first two Madea movies were funny, but they have become predictable and just plain boring. His latest offering, “Madea’s Witness Protection,”  was indeed in need of protection. At least for moviegoers. The opening scene set the tone for the entire movie — plain monotonous and predictable. Even a good actor like Eugene Levy couldn’t save this film. In fact, “Bringing Down the House,” starring Queen Latifah, Steve Martin and Eugene Levy, makes “Madea’s Family Reunion” look like the work of a first year film student.

I was terribly disappointed that Marla Gibbs, who will be remembered as Florence, the sassy maid on the popular sitcom “The Jeffersons,” was so grossly underused in the film. As you know, Marla Gibbs is funny and for Tyler Perry to simply dismiss her with one scene like an extra on a movie set was just deplorable. She would have been a far more interesting character in the film than John Amos, who played James Evans Jr. on “Good Times.”

George Needleman, played by Eugene Levy, as a chief financial officer who doesn’t realize that his company, Lockwise Industries, has been running a Ponzi scheme that bilked charities, was placed in a witness protection program to hide he and his family from the mob. So, Tyler Perry, who is less convincing as an actor than as a director, playing a newly minted prosecutor handling the case, decides to house the Needlemans with his aunt, Madea and his father Joe. Denise Richards, who plays Levy’s frustrated second wife, Kate, is another huge disappointment. She has always been a decent actress, but came across as very amateurish. Nothing like that feisty scientist Dr. Christmas Jones in James Bond thiller, “The World is Not Enough.”

Doris Roberts, who is the grand dame of “Madea’s Witness Protection,” played the role of George Needleman’s senile mother, Barbara. She provided some weak comic relief, but even Doris Roberts couldn’t save Madea from herself. I would venture to say that the funniest scene, though predictable, occurred earlier in the film, when Romeo Miller, who played pastor’s son, Jake, attempted to rob Madea as she left the supermarket, wearing a ridiculous clown mask. Madea told him to get out of her car, to which he said that he would count to three for her to hand over her money or else. She took off at top speed, weaving through traffic and even losing a hub cap. That was the funniest moment of the film.

The film borrowed heavily on a Whoopi Goldberg scene in “Ghost,” in which she withdrew millions from a bank account, guided by a ghost, played by the late Patrick Swayze. Well, true to form, George Needleman avoids a prison sentence after discovering millions sitting in a bank account being held by a Priscilla Jackson. Madea miraculously gets a driver’s license as Priscilla Jackson and they all trot off to New York City to withdraw this money from the bank. That she did. How predictable? Of course, all the charges were dropped against George Needleman and those not-for-profits who were almost ripped off by Lockwise Industries and the church John Amos pastored in the movie, got their money back.

Tyler Perry defied all the odds, from homelessness and being unemployed, to becoming a leading film director, but he continues to underwhelm with his Madea installations. I am tired of Madea’s buffoonery. One of the previews that rolled before the movie started was “Alex Cross,” the James Patterson adaptation in which Tyler Perry plays a detective. That will be a welcome diversion from Madea. Sorry, Tyler Perry, “Madea’s Witness Protection,” failed to take control of its own setups and, in essence, was a major disappointment. Time for Madea to go away for good. And no, I’m not hatin’ on Tyler Perry.

Brief Summary of “Madea’s Witness Protection:”

For years, George Needleman, the gentle CFO of a Wall Street investment bank, has been living with his head in the clouds. His frustrated second wife, Kate, has reached her limit taking care of his senile mother, Barbara. His teenage daughter, Cindy, is spoiled beyond hope and his seven-year-old son, Howie, wishes his father were around more. But George is finally forced to wake up when he learns that his firm, Lockwise Industries, has been operating a mob-backed Ponzi scheme — and that he’s been set up as the fall guy.

Facing criminal charges and death threats from the mob, George and his entire family are put under witness protection in the safest place that Brian, a federal prosecutor from Atlanta, can think of… His Aunt Madea’s house down South. Source

Former Fugees Singer Lauryn Hill Pleads Guilty for Failing to File Tax Returns, Faces Prison Time

DUMBASS:  Former Fugees singer Lauryn Hill pled guilty to “intentionally and willingly” failing to file tax returns for the years 2005, 2006 and 2007, on $1.8 million. She faces up to three years in prison and a $75,000 fine, plus taxes and penalties. Um, she has no-one else to blame but her dumb ass. Sorry, this just makes me really mad that some rich people feel they shouldn’t pay taxes. Remember Wesley Snipes? I rest my case.

Lauryn Hill pled guilty to three counts of failure to file tax returns, all felonies. She was released on $150,000 bail and her sentencing hearing is set for November. SMH. What a moron.

Drudge Report, Romney Campaign Upset Over Obama “Health Reform Still a BFD” T-Shirt

Drudge Report, Romney Campaign Upset Over Obama “Health Reform Still a BFD” T-Shirt

The Republicans, or Rethuglicans as I like to call them, are still reeling from Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts’ move to the left in upholding Obamacare. This time, they are taking aim at a t-shirt being sold by Obama for America (OFA), which pokes fun at healthcare reform.

Romney adviser Eric Fehrnstrom took aim at the Obama campaign for its “Health reform still a BFD” t-shirt. BFD stands for Big Fucking Deal, saying it’s unpresidential. Um, this is coming from Mitt Romney, who impersonated a police officer, attacked a fellow-classmate because he was perceived to be a homosexual, and went on a fake gangster-style stick up of the Princeton Prep Shoppe.

Where did the whole “BFD” thingy come from? None other than the vice presidential gaffe-machine Joe Biden. He was caught on mic telling the president in 2012 that the health care legislation was a “big fucking deal.” The Obama campaign was trying to raise money off “BFD.” I laugh at the criticism from the right because some conservatives have literally crucified John Roberts for moving to the left, some even taking aim at his epilepsy, specifically Mike Savage (who was declared persona non grata in the UK)  saying he may have forgotten to take his medicine. So, the Big Fucking Deal t-shirt pales in comparison to some of the hurtful things said about John Roberts in the last 24 hours and counting.
