This is a materially INACCURATE STATEMENT!!!

The ONLY entity to judge George Zimmerman’s “Stand Your Ground” defense is the JUDGE that recently revoked his bail.

The next process in the prosecution of George Zimmerman is a hearing by which the JUDGE listens to the Zimmerman attorney’s claim that his client was acting in self-defense and should be granted the protections rendered under STAND YOUR GROUND.

The judge has the ability to:
A) Toss the case because his actions were in line with Stand Your Ground
B) Reject the claim and send him to trial for “Second Degree Homicide” as charged.

The rhetoric around “Stand Your Ground” has reached a fevered pitch and other agendas have been latched on to it.

IT MAY BE ACCURATE to say that the police believed that night that he ACTED IN SELF DEFENSE after being attacked. But the addition of STAND YOUR GROUND as the MOTIVATING FACTOR is not accurate.

In states that do not have such a law – a person is taken in for questioning – JUST LIKE ZIMMERMAN WAS and then the Police and the District Attorney decide to press charges or not.

Stand Your Ground has not been relevant to any portion of this proceeding – YET. It has ONLY been an effective means of bringing in ALEC and the Koch Brothers.

Even despite the rampant murder of Black people in Atlanta – the SCLC is seeking to over turn “Stand Your Ground” in Georgia as their primary focus instead of Black On Black Homicide.
