Did Mitt Romney call President Obama a “corrupt” president during his speech at the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) convention? Seems like that to me? Chris Matthews seems to think so and got Michael Steele to admit as much on “Hardball” Tuesday evening.
Romney said, “A healthy American economy is what underwrites American power. When growth is missing, government revenues fall, social spending rises, and many in Washington look to cut defense spending as an easy way out. That includes our corrupt president.” The Las Vegas Sun is reporting he meant to say “current president.”
Was this a Freudian slip or a calculated insult? You be the judge but this is reminiscent of Rick Santorum singling out blacks on welfare during his run for the presidential nomination. Romney’s campaign pushed back, with spokeswoman Andrea Saul saying in an e-mail that he “said ‘current,’ as was written in his speech.” Um, still sounded like ‘corrupt’ to me.

Romney Campaign Adviser Says He Understands Anglo-Saxon Heritage, Obama Doesn’t Because of African Father

Mitt Romney’s campaign is inching closer and closer to being accused of racial insensitivity. An adviser to the Romney campaign said the GOP presidential candidate would restore the Anglo-Saxon relationship with Britain, since Obama’s left-wing tendencies has made it hard for him to do, plus Romney was “better placed to understand the depth of ties between the two countries than Obama, whose father is from Africa,” the Telegraph reports. In other words, the white guy knows how to get along with Great Britain, not the black guy, right? In Mitt Romney’s eyes, the black guy just doesn’t get the whole Anglo-Saxon heritage thingy, right? Can you spell racial insensitivity? I seriously doubt the adviser could explain what the Anglo-Saxon heritage means. I shouldn’t be surprised with this latest dig from Romney since he is part of a religion that discriminated against blacks until the late 1970s:
Um, I grew up in Jamaica, which is a part of the Commonwealth, does that disqualify me from understanding the whole Anglo-Saxon angle? Please, spare me the bullsh*t. It is quite clear that Mitt Romney will literally say anything to get in the White House. Newsflash to Mitt Romney, in addition to whites in Great Britain, there are blacks, Indians, Asians, Latinos and Middle Easterners.
As part of the sucking-up process, Romney, who gives the word patronizing new meaning, plans to reinstate the Churchill bust that was displayed in the Oval Office during George W. Bush’s tenure, but was returned to British diplomats by Obama when he took office in 2009. The Telegraph reports one adviser said Romney viewed it as symbolically important, while the other said Romney “is naturally more Atlanticist.” Um, why didn’t the Telegraph reveal the names of the two advisers? While spewing this bullsh*t neither adviser could tell the Telegraph how policy towards Britain would differ under Mr Romney, with one conceding ignorance on what their policy is on the European crisis. Um, I’m pretty sure Obama’s people would have an answer. To use a phrase from “Bringing Down the House,” to Mitt Romney and his team — “keep talking teabag[s], keep talking.”
Mitt Romney’s family loved their Anglo-Saxon heritage so much that they ran to Mexico. Congrats to the Romney campaign, all the white supremacists are lining up right behind you and have your back. Just last week Cuban-born surrogate John Sununu said Obama needs to learn how to be an American. He later issued a half-ass apology. Romney himself attacked the president’s multi-culturalism saying his policies are foreign.
