Names of some of the victims in the Aurora massacre include Micayla Medek, Alex Sullivan, Matt McQuinn, John Thomas Larimer, AJ Boik, Alex Teves and Air Force Staff Sgt. Jesse Childress.
The full list of names of the victims in the James Holmes shooting rampage at the premiere of new Batman movie “Dark Knight Rises” in Auorora, CO, will be released at 10 a.m. Saturday. Alex Sullivan and Micayla Medek are among the dead. The name of one victim, Jessica Ghawi [Jessica Redfield], was released Friday. Matt McQuinn also died, while shielding his girlfriend from the hail of bullets. Names of more victims include Alex Teves, John Thomas Larimer and AJ Boik. John Larimer was a sailor in the U.S. Navy, and was stationed in Aurora. The U.S. Department of Defense said three members of the U.S. Armed Forces, two from the Air Force, one from the Navy, were wounded in the shooting, and a Navy sailor remained unaccounted for, who most likely was John Thomas Larimer. The Navy is preparing to render full military honors to Larimer. His father and grandfather had also served in the Navy. He was doing some Cryptology work for the Navy. Air Force Staff Sgt. Jesse Childress has also been identified as a victim in the Aurora movie theater massacre. Jesse Childress was a reservist on active duty with 310 Force Support Squadron.
Authorities will return to James Holmes’ apartment to figure out how to undo the booby trap he set. Alex Sullivan was killed on his 27th birthday and Micayla Medek, 23, [Cayla Medek] was a student at Community College of Aurora and worked at Subway. She lived in Westminster.
This was the largest mass shooting in America’s history with 12 dead and 58 injured. He didn’t break any gun laws both state and federal. Why are people allowed to purchase armored equipment? This man had a stockpile was legal. The ban on assault weapons was allowed to expire in 2004. Colorado is one of the shall-issue states, if you aren’t mentally ill or don’t have a criminal history, they must issue the weapons to you if you purchase. There is no database in Colorado to track purchasers of weapons, so law enforcement will have no idea of who is purchasing what. Gun enthusiasts and the NRA believe to have this database in place is an invasion of privacy. How many more people have to die before something is done to protect Americans from homegrown terrorists?
