First Lady wannabe Ann Romney lectured Latinos today telling them to ‘get past their biases’ and vote for Mitt Romney if they want prosperity. Um, the same kind of prosperity she has experienced from childhood. Well, does she want Latinos to get past their biases when the “illegal immigrants” self-deport, per her husband, the man in whose hands we should throw ourselves as she did back in high school? Sorry, Ann Romney’s “you people” lecture at the Latino Coalition Wednesday was condescending and rude, as though somehow, she knows what best for Latinos.  Yeah, since she’s on a roll, is she scheduled to lecture the black community too?

ABC News: “[Latinos] are mistaken if they think they are going to be better off with Barack Obama as their president. There really is only one way for prosperity, for small business, and that is, this is the simplest way I can say this: If Mitt Romney wins, America wins.”

There’s more:

“You’d better really look at your future and figure out who’s going to be the guy that’s going to make it better for you and your children, and there is only one answer.”

This is the same woman who owns a horse for the heck of it and owns a couple of Cadillacs:

“It really is a message that would resonate well if they could just get past some of their biases that have been there from the Democratic machines that have made us look like we don’t care about this community,” Romney said. “And that is not true. We very much care about you and your families and the opportunities that are there for you and your families.”

The “You People” lecture:

“I had the most rocking time in Puerto Rico at a political rally than I’ve ever had in my entire life,” Romney said. “You people really know how to party. It was crazy!”

Nice try Ann, but please don’t refer to Latinos or anyone else as “you people.” That’s rude and quite frankly a little too bourgeoisie. Yeah, now I see why Juan Williams called her a “corporate wife.”

She stressed her immigrant roots, mentioning her grandfather who was a Welsh coalminer, aiming to connect with the Latino audience.

“I know what it’s like to be the daughter of immigrants,” she said.

Um, I don’t think she quite knows what it means to be discriminated against because of one’s dark skin — blacks and Latinos. You see, while she was living in relative ease during her youth, many blacks were still being treated like shit. That includes black and Latino immigrants. So, now, sorry if I think Ann Romney is just pandering when she throws her coal miner grandfather in the mix. Sure as hell doesn’t have the same effect as coming from Loretta Lynn.
