Jeffrey Johnson was killed after opening fire at 9:03 a.m. near the Empire State Building killing a former coworker. Jeffrey Johnson, 53, was employed at Hazan Imports as a designer and was laid off a year ago. Jeffrey Johnson, 53, used a 45 caliber weapon in the shooting at 10 West 33rd Street. The former coworker of Johnson was 44 years old.
Two women and seven men were wounded in the gun violence. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said some of the wounded could have been shot by the police as they were trying to subdue Jeffrey Johnson.
