Amber Deanna Stanley died after being shot multiple times in her own bed in a home invasion, when a male suspect kicked in the front door of her Kettering home in Prince George’s County Wednesday night, MyFoxDC reports. The 17 year old Harvard-bound honors student at Charles H. Flowers High School, was the only one in the home who was shot in the attack. Her 37 year old sister and her small daughter, as well as her foster sister were not harmed. Her mother was not in the home at the time, but returned home only to see her daughter’s body being removed from the home.
The Washington Times reports that there was an assault at the home on August 17. No arrests were made in that case. Police are offering a $25,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of any suspects in Amber Deanna Stanley’s murder.
