The Democrats and President Obama are planning the mother of all conventions, including  several Republicans in a prime-time appeal to independents,” Politico reports.A “blistering portrayal” of Mitt Romney as a heartless aristocrat who “would devastate the American middle class” is also coming.

“The plans are spelled out in an early draft of the convention plan, providing an unusual glimpse of presidential advisers’ thought bubble about what viewers will see from the podium — closed captioning of what strategist David Axelrod and other top advisers are thinking about each element of the television spectacle. The detailed plans also offer a preliminary road map of the Obama campaign’s big themes for the fall.” Source:  Politico

The Obama campaign and the Democrats are going to throw the kitchen sink, dishwasher and everything at their disposal at Mitt Romney, painting him as out-of-touch with most Americans.

Separately,  could Jon Huntsman Sr. be the source of Harry Reid’s charge that Mitt Romney didn’t pay taxes for 10 years? The Daily Kos seems to think so.

Jon Huntsman Sr, is business partners with Robert C. Gay, who also happened to be Bain’s managing director between 1989 and 2004. And if anyone knows the machinations Bain used to evade taxes for itself and its partners, well, it would be the guy in charge of the firm’s finances.
