CT GOP Senate Candidate Linda McMahon Door Hangers in Black Neighborhoods Say Vote for President Obama and Me

Connecticut Republican Senate candidate Linda McMahon is tricking blacks into voting for her with her latest campaign door-hanger saying that it’s okay to vote for President Obama and her. The door hanger states: “Vote Barack Obama For President and Vote Linda McMahon For Senate.” The McMahon campaign says she’s still backing Mitt Romney.

This is typical of the Republican Party, which is hellbent on suppressing the black vote in Ohio and Florida, but we have news for FL Gov. Rick Scott, who has the lowest approval rating of any Florida governor in recent years, and Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted. We are going to fight for our rights this time around.

Pew’s Final Pre-Election Poll: Obama 50%-Romney 47%, Race-Baiting From Romney Campaign Intensifies

Mitt Romney has had another bad polling day and the writing may be on the way in some respects. But more importantly, Mitt Romney finally came full circle with the racist code by implying that President Obama is about to get us with the “revenge” word. He knew perfectly well that the president was only referring to the best revenge against the bad policies Romney is spouting is to get out to vote. It’s just that simple, but the racist dog whistle is the preferable alternative. It plays right into Romney’s scare tactics. He is also reportedly quietly courting Glenn Beck.  Ann Romney has repeatedly said the president wasn’t a grown up and his surrogates have called President Obama every name in the book, short of the n-word.

Well, the best revenge the Obama campaign has are the recent polling results that show the president has closed a four point gap from early October when his lackluster performance during the first presidential debate in Denver, CO, shocked many. President Obama’s Midwest firewall is holding and he continues to lead in most battleground states with a narrow margin. The Pew Research’s poll shows the president with a narrow lead. Mitt Romney is worried and that’s why he is now in pursuit of “fool’s gold.” Um, Mr. Romney, drive-by campaigning doesn’t work. It didn’t work for Bob Dole and John McCain and it won’t work for you.

Pew Research:  Barack Obama has edged ahead of Mitt Romney in the final days of the presidential campaign. In the Pew Research Center’s election weekend survey, Obama holds a 48% to 45% lead over Romney among likely voters.

The survey finds that Obama maintains his modest lead when the probable decisions of undecided voters are taken into account. Our final estimate of the national popular vote is Obama 50% and Romney 47%, when the undecided vote is allocated between the two candidates based on several indicators and opinions.

Back to the racist dog whistle getting louder and louder as we sprint to the election on Tuesday– Inquirer columnist Michael Smerconish ruffled some feathers this morning with his column, The Pulse:  The Smearing of a President:  From Start, Unrelenting and Unfair.”

Just before Hurricane Sandy hit, Ann Coulter called our sitting president a “retard,” Sarah Palin mocked his “shuck and jive shtick,” and John Sununu openly questioned Gen. Colin Powell’s weighty endorsement as being motivated by race. At least earlier in the campaign there was some effort at camouflage. Such as when Mitt Romney aired an anti-Obama welfare commercial that falsely suggested Obama supported handouts (“They just send you your welfare check”) when, in fact, Obama was accommodating requests of several governors, two of them conservative Republicans, to try new ways to put people back to work. A similar sentiment was expressed by Romney when he maligned the 47 percent who don’t pay federal income taxes, overlooking that 83 percent of that group are either working and paying payroll taxes or they’re elderly.

And, almost daily, there have been dire warnings about Obama, often with sirens, from the Drudge Report. Example: the Sept. 18 edition featuring a hideous picture of Obama (eyes closed) emblazoned with the all-capped quote: “I ACTUALLY BELIEVE IN REDISTRIBUTION,” a 14-year-old excerpt that conveniently excised the future president’s explicit embrace of “competition” and “marketplace.” No wonder I routinely field calls from radio listeners who, with no hint of embarrassment in their voices, say things such as “I call him ‘comrade’ ” or “he’s not my president.”

All the myths about President Obama have been debunked, including the claim that he was born in Kenya, but there are many who want to keep whites scared by keeping that fire going. It’s a sad commentary that in the 1900s America was a horrible place for blacks to live and we are still confounded by racist images and stereotypes in 2012. How can we engage another country and tell them how to treat their citizens, when our sitting president is called all manner of names by the Republicans.

Top 10 Reasons Why Mitt Romney is Going to Lose the Presidential Election

Top 10 Reasons Why Mitt Romney is Going to Lose the Presidential Election. (Photo credit: DonkeyHotey)

Here’s my list of the top 10 reasons why Mitt Romney is going to lose the presidential election on November 6, 2012:

1. NJ Gov. Chris Christie, the guy who delivered the keynote address at the Republican convention, can’t stop praising your opponent.

2. Just about everyone in most of the states you need to win are ticked off at you for lying — Ohio, Florida and Virginia;

3. Dick Morris is claiming you’re going to win a landslide, only to start walking it back a day later;

4. Karl Rove is saying the state polls are wrong;

5. You’ve been running for the presidency for six years and nobody likes you;

6. You can’t figure out why “you didn’t build that” blew up in your face, like “Jeep jobs” going to China;

7. The right wing pundits are going nuts, with your boy Sean Hannity caught in an outright lie, using 2011 Verizon strike audio to fake Sandy outrage. Rupert Murdoch is already blaming Chris Christie for your loss.

8. Your running mate Paul Ryan is nowhere to be found. Oh, wait. He’s concentrating on winning reelection for his House seat;

9. Rush Limbaugh has been reduced to hurling gay insults at Chris Christie;

10. 68% approved of President Obama’s handling of Sandy, similar numbers to when he bagged Osama bin Laden.

On a serious note, Matthew Dowd told ABC News that every time “you feel a losing campaign, these three things happen,” saying:

“The first thing happens is, don’t believe — the public polls are wrong. That’s the first sign of a campaign that’s about to lose. The second thing, we’re going to change the nature of the electorate, and you’re not seeing it reflected in the polls. And the third thing is, the only poll that counts is Election Day. When you hear those things, you know you’re about to lose.”

CNBC’s ‘Mad Money’ host Jim Cramer predicts President Obama will obliterate Mitt Romney in landslide with 440 to 98 Electoral College votes in Tuesday’s presidential election. Um, really? I seriously doubt that will happen. My prediction is 303 – 235 in President Obama’s favor. For the popular vote, I think President Obama will eke out a win, with 49 to 48 percent.

Here’s my prediction for an Obama win:

Here is why Sean Hannity and Fox News should have zero credibility — on his nationally syndicated talk show program Friday, he played an audio of what he said were union workers in New York City shouting “scabs” and “scumbags” at nonunion utility workers who came to help reconnect powerlines in the city after Superstorm Sandy. Um, one problem. That audio was from 2011. He should went on an on-air tirade over a lie. This is why I don’t watch his Fox News show or listen to his radio show. He is on a mission to discredit without facts, like his constant attacks on President Obama. This was irresponsible and reckless. The Daily Caller ran with the story, only to come back with a weak “sorry.”

The Daily Caller has learned that the audio Sean Hannity played during his Friday, Nov. 2 broadcast was taken from a 2011 union protest against replacement workers during a Verizon strike. A YouTube video of the protest carries a description naming the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, local 827, as the source of the comments. That union local is based in East Windsor, N.J. The Daily Caller regrets compounding the confusion.

It’s pretty clear that Fox News doesn’t take fact-checking serious and that shows in the inflammatory rhetoric their on-air personalities are allowed to get away with, which is most-often based on faulty or false information. Sean Hannity’s Sandy outrage was based on a lie. Um, his lack of professional training speaks volumes.

Saturday Night Live skewered Mitt Romney during last night’s episode with the Republican presidential candidate, played by Jason Sudeikis, appearing on the “Weekend Update” segment, saying “nothing I’ve said in the past should be any indication of my positions in the future.” LOL. That’s a direct swipe at his flip-flopping through the years. Sudeikis mocked Romney making his final pitch, imploring voters to remember that he still actually exists and sent out well-wishes to the victims of Superstorm Sandy, but noted that “in these trying times, I think there’s something very important that a lot of people are forgetting, which is I’s Mitt Romney and I’m still running for president.”

Seth Meyers, the host of “Weekend Update,” asked the faux-Romney about cutting FEMA. He responded:

In my defense, that was a comment I made during a Republican primary debate. That’s like judging a person’s behavior while they are pledging a fraternity. you can’t hold a man — or a woman — to what he — or she — said at a Republican primary debate. I want to make it clear: When I said we should get rid of FEMA, it was sunny.

He then made his closing argument:  “If I’m elected president, I can promise you one thing: I will promise you everything. One more thing, I would very much like this job, very, very much.”
