The  AP reports White House officials suggest Jon Huntsman Jr., former Republican presidential candidate and  Obama’s ambassador to China, might be a candidate for Secretary of State. I thought Jon Huntsman was the most credible candidate among the slate of GOP presidential candidates but he just couldn’t appeal to Republican voters.

“Huntsman is still widely respected by the administration even if he’d hoped to unseat Obama. Choosing Huntsman would allow the president to claim bipartisanship while putting an Asia expert in the job at a time when the U.S. is focusing more attention on the world’s most populous continent.”

KSL-TV: “The speculation caught many political observers off guard. Some told us that taking another job in the Obama administration might make it hard, if not impossible, for him to run as a Republican again for the White House.”

Author Terry McMillan Tweets: “I Prayed President Obama Would Slay Mitt, 332-206 Electoral Votes Qualifies as Slain”

“How Stella Got Her Groove Back” author Terry McMillan tweets: “I prayed President Obama would slay Mitt Romney.” Of course, Terry McMillan was referring to Electoral College votes, but we know the right wing will take offense. McMillan’s tweet came after President Obama won Florida after the voter count was completed.

Terry McMillan also tweeted though she’s in the top one percent, she wants President Obama to stick to his guns on raising taxes on the wealthiest Americans:

When President Obama won his historic election in 2008, gun sales increased in record numbers. Well, the same trend is heating up in after his reelection Tuesday.  According to data released by the FBI, in October, the number of firearms background checks performed on potential gun buyers across the U.S. increased 18.4%.  The number of applications for gun ownership is considered an indicator for future gun sales. Experts believe the spike in applications is linked to nervousness that the Obama administration might try to tighten gun control laws. In 2008, after President Obama was first elected, the FBI conducted 12.7 million background checks for that year alone, compared to 11.2 million in 2007, a 13.4% increase.
