I knew it was a matter of time before Ann Coulter resumed spewing her usual venom and stinking up the place like Pe Pe Le Pew. This time, she described Latinos as a “lazy underclass.” In a screed entitled “America Reaches El Tipping Pointo,” she ranted that Latinos were the cause for the nation’s plight and placed Mitt Romney’s loss to President Obama largely on their backs. As usual, her screed is devoid of any trace of reality. Hey Ann, President Obama is here to stay until 2017. You and Sean Hannity should get used to that.

That’s a lot of government dependents coming down the pike. No amount of “reaching out” to the Hispanic community, effective “messaging” or Reagan’s “optimism” is going to turn Mexico’s underclass into Republicans.  Any election analysis that doesn’t deal with the implacable fact of America’s changing demographics is bound to be wrong.

Perhaps the reason elections maven Michael Barone was so shockingly off in his election prediction this year was that, in the biggest mistake of his career, Barone has been assuring us for years that most of these Third World immigrants pouring into the country would go the way of Italian immigrants and become Republicans. They’re hardworking! They have family values!

Maybe at first, but not after coming here, having illegitimate children and going on welfare.

Charles Murray recently pointed out that — contrary to stereotype — Hispanics are less likely to be married, less likely to go to church, more supportive of gay marriage and less likely to call themselves “conservative” than other Americans.

Rather than being more hardworking than Americans, Hispanics actually work about the same as others, or, in the case of Hispanic women, less. Source

Of course, truth is never on Ann Coulter’s side. Just empty and insulting rhetoric sprinkled with a vile hatred of President Obama and the Democrats. Lost on Ann Coulter is the fact that non-Hispanic whites account for 64 percent of the U.S. population and received 69 percent of entitlement benefits, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. That’s compared to Hispanics, who make up 16 percent of the population in 2010, but received just 12 percent of entitlement benefits. Um, who is the lazy underclass? Lost on Ann Coulter is the fact that Mitt Romney won just 27 percent of the Latino vote, which was the lowest number of any presidential candidate since Bob Dole in 1996. His failure to attract Hispanic voters was largely due to his hardline stance on immigration, such as his suggestion that illegal immigrants “self-deport.” Clearly the Republican Party has a bigger problem than they care to admit. Demographics will continue to be their enemy if a flamethrower like Ann Coulter continues to insult the very groups they need to target to stop the bleeding at the polls.
