BREAKING NEWS:  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton admitted to hospital with blood clot following concussion. The clot was found in the course of an examination Sunday. It is not clear where this blood clot is. Hillary Clinton is being treated at New York Presbyterian Hospital and will monitored for the next 48 hours. We wish Mrs. Clinton a speedy recovery.

Source:  Clinton spokesman Philippe Reines says her doctors discovered the clot during a follow-up exam Sunday. Reines says Clinton is being treated with anti-coagulants. Clinton was admitted to New York-Presbyterian Hospital so doctors can monitor the medication over the next 48 hours. Reines says doctors will continue to assess Clinton’s condition, “including other issues associated with her concussion.”

Courtni Webb Suspended Over Poem Saying “I Know Why He Pulled Trigger” About Newtown Shooting

NEWTOWN SHOOTING TRAGEDY: Courtni Webb, a San Francisco high school senior, is facing possible expulsion for writing a poem about the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting massacre. She wrote that she could see what drove Adam Lanza to commit such a heinous act. She wrote in her poem, “I understand the killings in Connecticut. I know why he pulled the trigger.” CBS Atlanta reports a teacher saw Courtni Webb’s poem and turned it over to the principal. School officials have reportedly said they have zero tolerance where violence or the threat of violence is concerned.

 

Tashawn Leslie, Tyerelle Baker Identified as Two Men Found Shot to Death in Car in Brockton MA

WEEKEND GUN VIOLENCE:  The two men found shot to death in a car in Brockton, Mass., have been identified as Tashawn Leslie and Tyerelle Baker, both 23. According to media reports, police found Leslie sitting in the driver’s seat of a Honda on Battles Farm Drive, and Baker was in the front passenger seat. Both had been shot in the chest. Separately Caprice Williams died after being shot multiple times near Bergen and Kensington avenues in Jersey City, NJ, Saturday night. It is not clear what sparked the shooting. No suspects are in custody.

 1969: President Richard Nixon signed a sweeping tax reform legislation, raising them on the rich and cutting taxes for most Americans by five percent. The tax reform exempted nine million low-income citizens from paying any taxes at all and also sharply raised Social Security benefits.

Jason Cherry Killed, Three Others Wounded, in Shooting at Dickinson Street SE Home in Grand Rapids MI

GUN VIOLENCE:  Jason Cherry, 34, killed and three others injured following a shooting Saturday night at a residence located at 1249 Dickinson Street SE in Grand Rapids, Mich.

Three of the victims were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Two of them suffered non-life threatening injuries, while a third person’s injuries were considered life-threatening.

There were three to four suspects involved in the shooting. The victims described them as young black males. One is described as a light skinned black male with a short afro, wearing a red bandana that covered his face and is between 5’5″ – 5’7.’ Another suspect is described as wearing all black and was between 6’0″-6’2.” Police said no other descriptions were given. No motive has been determined and no suspects have been arrested.
