BREAKING: Las Vegas police have found the body of a young black girl, possibly Jade Morris, who was last seen with her father’s girlfriend Brenda Jean Stokes, last Friday. KTNV reports Capt. Chris Jones said, during a press conference, that a black girl’s body was found near Dorrell and North 5th Street by a man who was walking his dog in the area.
Huffington Post: Family members told the Black and Missing Foundation that they visually identified the remains for police, who have not yet released a statement positively identifying the body.
“We are heartbroken today. It has been confirmed by family members that the body of … Jade Morris has been found. We pray for her family,” Natalie Wilson, co-founder of the organization, told The Huffington Post. Wilson said the family wasn’t told the cause of death
Blood was reportedly found in the vehicle Brenda Stokes borrowed. She was named a prime suspect in the murder of Jade Morris during a court appearance Friday. The judge increased her bond from $60,000 to $600,000 pending the filing of kidnapping and murder charges.
UPDATED: KTNV reports the cause of death was multiple stab and incised wounds. The manner of death was homicide.
