FALLEN OFFICER: Benjamin Sebena, the husband of slain Wauwatosa police officer Jennifer Lynn Sebena, was arrested in connection with her murder.
The Wauwatosa Police Department issued a statement Thursday saying Benjamin Sebena, of Menomonee Falls, was arrested and booked into the Milwaukee County Jail Wednesday, on a tentative charge of first-degree intentional homicide.
Officer Jennifer Lynn Sebena’s body was discovered a few hours after she failed to respond to a dispatcher’s calls in the wee hours of Christmas Eve morning. She will be laid to rest Saturday, December 29.
Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: “Benjamin Sebena served two tours in Iraq as a Marine, earning a Purple Heart. His unit, 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines, had been part of the invasion force at the start of the Iraq War in 2003 and returned to Iraq in the fall of 2004, when Benjamin Sebena was sent to Ramadi. He was seriously injured in a mortar attack that killed a buddy in February 2005. In a video taped at Brookfield’s Elmbrook Church, he told about how he found his future wife through social media while he was serving in Iraq.”
