BREAKING: Shooting at Lone Star College, Three People Received Medical Attention

BREAKING:  A campus spokesperson has confirmed shots have been fired on the campus of Lone Star College in north Houston, ABC News affiliate reports. Two people have been seen receiving attention by medical crews near the library.

Deputy constables said they have at least one person detained, but have not said if that person is a suspected shooter.

Investigators said a second suspect, an 18- to 20-year-old black man wearing a red shirt and Falcons cap, fled north of campus. Deputies are actively searching for that man. Source

The school’s website: “LSC-North Harris is Locked Down. Students, Faculty and Staff are advised to take immediate shelter where you are. Do not enter the campus until notified further.”

UPDATE#1:  It is confirmed that two people were shot at Lone Star College North Harris, the Harris County Emergency Corp. says.

ALBUQUERQUE QUINTUPLE MURDER:  The District Attorney’s office said teen gunman Nehemiah Griego will be treated as an adult at his arraignment for the quintuple homicide of his parents, Greg and Sara Griego, and his three siblings Zephania, Jael and Angelina.

Nehemiah Griego used a .22 caliber rifle and an AR-15 semiautomatic weapon to shoot his relatives. The guns were not obtained illegally.

Bernalillo County Sheriff Dan Houston says murder suspect Nehemiah Griego learned to shoot from his father, and the two often went shooting together with guns that were not kept locked up in the home. Source

 

The motive Nehemiah Griego gave police investigators for the shooting was that he was “frustrated with his mother” and had contemplated shooting for ‘some time’ and had also considered killing his girlfriend’s parents.

Nehemiah Griego waited five hours for his father to come home to shoot him. He shot his mother as she slept and his siblings were believed to be awake when he killed them.

DISGRACE:  The Times of London and CNN are reporting that Beyoncé Knowles lip-synched her rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” at President Obama’s second inauguration Monday. A spokesperson for the Marine Corps Band told the British paper that it is standard procedure to pre-record a backing track for the performance. Beyoncé reportedly decided shortly before her performance not to sing it live. It was absolutely ludicrous for her to have removed her earpiece, since she really wasn’t singing. Unbelievable shame. I know even Jennifer Hudson would have sang it live.

On the other hand, Kelly Clarkson, an “American Idol” winner, sang “My Country ‘Tis of Thee” WITHOUT the help of a backing track, TMZ reports. Um, true talent. Patti Labelle sang the National Anthem live standing on ice at the 2012 NHL Classic. Talk about a true professional.

What’s preposterous is the connection by right wing lunatics Beyoncé lip-syncing somehow shows that President Obama’s second term is a sham. SMH. As much as I hate the idea of lip syncing, I must ask if the outrage over Whitney Houston lip syncing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl when the U.S. had just begun the Gulf War in 1991. Was that connected to the Bush Administration?

Ohio Board of Education president Debe Terhar denies she was comparing President Obama’s gun control proposals to Nazi Germany when she posted a photo of Adolf Hitler on Facebook with the quote, ”Never forget what this tyrant said: ‘To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens.’” Um, she wasn’t comparing his plans to anything Mother Teresa ever did.

According to the Columbus Dispatch Debe Terhar said, “I’m not comparing the president to Adolf Hitler. It’s the thought of disarming citizens, and this has happened throughout history. What’s the true intention of the Second Amendment? It was to protect us from a tyrannical government, God forbid.”

The photograph apparently originated with the Facebook page of Uncle Sam’s Misguided Children, which features a variety of anti-Obama, pro-gun posts and photos, such as scantily clad women hoisting large guns, a polar bear with the words “Holy f*** I’m glad I’m white,” and another saying “Where’s Lee Harvey Oswalt when you need him?”

Surprise, surprise, Debe Terhar is a Republican, so no-one should be surprised that she’s engaging in the same kind of name-calling President Obama talked about during his inaugural address Monday. The Republican haters just can’t help themselves, but they should remember that they are elected to office and can be voted out of office. I guess Debe Terhar would feel otherwise if one of her kids or relatives met a similar fate as those 20 kids and six educators at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. It’s a sad commentary that an idiot like Debe Terhar is in a position of power where the students of Ohio are concerned.

Stanford Grad Dr. Melissa Ketunuti Found Murdered in Basement of Philadelphia Home

SHOCK:  A Philadelphia pediatrician, Melissa Ketunuti, was found brutally murdered in the basement of her home Monday. The charred body of Melissa Ketunuti, who lived alone, was found strangled, hog tied and still smoldering in the basement of her home yesterday. Investigators say her hands and feet were duct-taped behind her.

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports police said there was no sign of forced entry at Ketunuti’s Graduate Hospital-area row house, on a well-maintained street blocks from Rittenhouse Square. The burns were reportedly concentrated on her arms and chest.

Police are awaiting the results of an autopsy to determine the cause of death. No suspect is in custody at this time. Dr. Melissa Ketunuti, who is an avid blogger, worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She earned a doctorate in medicine from Stanford University.

Help for Dylan, a Wonderful Child, Diagnosed with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome

Sometimes I come across a story about a story about a sick child that breaks my heart. It’s even tougher when the child is someone I know or know his or her parents. Here’s the story of Dylan who was diagnosed with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome.

MECP2 Duplicaton Syndrome is a condition that’s characterized by “moderate to severe intellectual disability. Most people with this condition also have weak muscle tone in infancy, feeding difficulties, poor or absent speech, seizures that may not improve with treatment, or muscle stiffness (spasticity). Individuals with MECP2 duplication syndrome have delayed development of motor skills such as sitting and walking. Approximately one third of people with this condition cannot walk without assistance. Many individuals with MECP2 duplication syndrome have recurrent respiratory tract infections. These respiratory infections are a major cause of death in affected individuals, with almost half succumbing by age 25. Source

Help for Dylan, Who Has Been Diagnosed with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome

Dylan’s birth was the happiest day of our lives.

He brought so many blessings into our lives and showed us the true meaning of  love. When Dylan was born he struggled with constant upper respiratory infections which required many doctors and hospital’s visits. After an intense process of testing, my sweet boy was diagnosed with MECP2 Duplication Syndrome. Because of his disorder, Dylan has kidney reflux on his right kidney and if by age 3 his kidney reflux does not improve he will need a kidney transplant.

He has had many respiratory infections, febrile seizures and suffers from asthma and allergies. He also has progressive spasticity and severe developmental delays.

Dylan is such a smart, happy, sweet boy who loves movies and books and enjoys music. Dylan deserves to WALK and have a VOICE to communicate his needs and wants, deserves to live a LONG and HEALTHY life! This experiment will prove that a cure for this syndrome is possible.
