Pop legend Tina Turner is renouncing her U.S. citizenship and opting to become a Swiss. Ms. Turner has been living in Switzerland since 1995 and reportedly said, “I’m very happy in Switzerland and I feel at home here.  I cannot imagine a better place to live,” German language daily Blick reports.

Tina Turner, who was born Anna Mae Bullock and was one-half of Ike and Tina, lives in Kuesnacht, on the shores of Lake Zurich and “has passed a local civics test and interview,” according to an official announcement published in the Zuerichsee-Zeitung.

Turner, who has learned German, reportedly moved to Switzerland in 1995 when her longtime partner, German record executive Erwin Bach, was transferred here, France 24 reports.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D. C. Circuit ruled that President Obama violated the Constitution when he bypassed the Senate to fill vacancies on the National Labor Relations Board last year.

Obama claims he acted properly because the Senate was away for the holidays. But the court says the Senate technically stayed in session when lawmakers gaveled in and out every few days for so-called “pro forma” sessions.

GOP lawmakers used the tactic specifically to prevent Obama from using his recess power to fill vacancies in an agency they claimed was too pro-union. Source

I can hear a steady chorus of Republicans gloating and saying that he is also violating the Constitution on gun control. I may not agree with everything President Obama does, but it is clear that the Republicans do not want to work with him and have stone-walled repeatedly on appointments. The Obama administration is expected to appeal the court’s ruling.

Second Suspect, Trey Foster, Arrested in Lone Star College Shooting

Trey Foster, a second suspect in the Lone Star College shooting, was arrested without incident Friday morning in Plano, TX. Trey Foster is identified as the shooter in the incident at the north Houston college.

Court documents released Thursday say the Tuesday shooting happened when two men argued after bumping into each other. One suspect, Carlton Berry, was arrested that day, and a second was charged the next.

According to the documents, one of the three people injured in the shooting told investigators that a man later identified as Foster shot him after the two argued.

U.S. Marshals say Foster was arrested without incident at a home in Plano around 1 a.m. Friday morning.

Dallas and Plano police officers, as well as agents from the North Texas U.S. Marshal Task Force and East Texas Marshal Task Force assisted in the arrest. Source

Trey Foster will face two felony counts of aggravated assault. It is not clear if aggravated assault charges will be dropped against Carlton Berry.

Did Hillary Clinton Suffer Double Vision from Concussion and Blood Clot?

HILLARY CLINTON DOUBLE VISION:  Is Hillary Clinton seeing double? The New York Daily News reports that close ups of the outgoing Secretary of State taken during her Senate testimony on the Benghazi consulate attack revealed that she may be seeing double.

As she testified about the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, the secretary of state appeared to have tiny vertical lines etched onto the left lens of her new brown specs.

Clinton’s spokesman confirmed Thursday night she is wearing the glasses as a result of the fall and concussion she suffered last month, but he did not elaborate.

Experts told the Daily News that Clinton likely has a Fresnel prism placed on her glasses. The adhesive panel is used to treat double vision. Source

The Daily Intelligencer reports a Clinton spokesperson confirmed that she will “be wearing these glasses instead of her contacts for a period of time because of lingering issues stemming from her concussion.”

For all those right wingnuts who mocked her, including the New York Post, should be ashamed of themselves.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) “will announce this morning that he’s dropping plans to run for a third term in 2014, a decision certain to set off an avalanche of Republican candidates who will seek to replace him,” .

“At least two GOP House members from Georgia, Paul Broun of Athens and Tom Price of Roswell, have been contemplating primary challenges to Chambliss, who has been criticized for participating in a bipartisan effort to broker a deal to address a $16 trillion federal deficit.”

Ex-Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick Heads Back to Prison for 14 Parole Violations

The Kwame Kilpatrick train wreck continues to roll.  The Detroit Free Press reports that former Detroit mayor will spend the weekend in prison as a penalty for 14 parole violations. Kwame Kilpatrick thumbed his nose at the people of Detroit and continues to do the same thing at the justice system in Detroit.
