Here we go, a Hillary Clinton SuperPAC is taking off, just as she’s set to leave the Secretary of State position. It’s interesting that we’re looking to 2016 already, only a week into President Obama’s second term.

ReadyForHillary launches a splash page next Monday at its website, ReadyForHillary.com. Allida Black and Judy Beck, two veteran Clinton fundraisers, are spearheading the new organization. They recruited Adam Parkhomeko, who helped launch a “Draft Hillary” movement in 2003 and was later hired by the campaign, to corral the far-flung vestiges of the Clinton campaign organization. NGP Software, which designed the Clinton campaign website in 2008, has been hired by the PAC.

Several former Clinton campaign staffers are offering input and suggestions. The PAC has no formal affiliation with Clinton or any of her top aides.

The first inklings of the new organization came late last year, when a @ReadyForHillary Twitter handle began to follow Democratic activists and political reporters. Source

National Radio Show Host Warren Ballentine Indicted in $10 Million Mortgage Fraud Scheme

WARREN BALLENTINE INDICTED:  Radio show host Warren Ballentine has been indicted in a $10 million mortgage fraud scheme, federal officials disclosed Monday. Ballentine, who calls himself the “people’s attorney” allegedly helped obtain nearly 30 mortgages in which buyers fraudulently qualified for loans based on false documents. The schemes allegedly took place between Dec. 2004 and May 2006. Warren Ballentine is scheduled to appear at the Dirksen U.S. Courthouse on Feb. 5 on six counts of bank fraud, false statements and mail and wire fraud.

Warren Ballentine was indicted last week by a federal grand jury for defrauding lenders by scheming with others to obtain nearly 30 bogus mortgage loans, according to the U.S. Attorney’s office in Chicago.

Ballentine is listed on WVON Radio’s web site as hosting a show from 3 to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday. The web site referred to him as “The People’s Attorney” and listed the name on his email address as “truthfighters.”

According to prosecutors, Ballentine helped obtain nearly 30 mortgages in which buyers were fraudulently qualified for loans based on false documents. The schemes took place between December 2004 and May 2006, authorities alleged. Source

I have been following Warren Ballentine’s Facebook page activity and someone needs to tell him to be careful about what he posts on social media. He said he’s being asked to take time off the air. Maybe he should. The charges against him are pretty hefty and very serious. He is facing up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the charges. He is also saying that he is innocent and didn’t make the kind of money the alleged in the indictment. Let us remember that an accused is innocent until proven guilty.

If you live in the Chicago or Atlanta area, you may recall hearing about Debt Stoppers Law Firm, (Robert J. Semrad & Associates), a bankruptcy law firm. Warren Ballentine is a partner in the firm. A check of the Better Business records on the company shows it with a C- rating. A constant thread that played on his radio show is “when the dollar is worthless you don’t want to be in debt.”

Here’s more from the press release issued by the Justice Department:

According to the indictment, between December 2004 and February 2005, Ballentine schemed with others to fraudulently cause various lenders to make at least eight loans totaling approximately $3.6 million by making false statements in loan documents, including applications, HUD-1 settlement statements, and occupancy statements concerning the buyers’ intention to occupy the homes they purchased as a primary residence. Ballentine then represented buyers recruited by others at real estate closings, knowing that they had signed and submitted false documents and had been fraudulently qualified to purchase the properties in Chicago, Monee, Woodridge, and Mokena.

Between February 2005 and May 2006, Ballentine allegedly engaged in a similar, separate scheme with others to fraudulently cause various lenders to make at least 20 loans totaling approximately $6.1 million by making false statements in mortgage documents, including the buyers’ intention to occupy the homes as a primary residence. Ballentine also represented these buyers at closings, knowing that they had been fraudulently qualified for the loans based on false documents, including some that Ballentine advised them to sign at closings. These homes were scattered throughout Chicago and other suburbs, including Country Club Hills, Richton Park, and Markham.

Each count of the indictment carries a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison and a $1 million fine or, as an alternative, the Court may impose a fine of twice the gross gain or twice the loss, whichever is greater, and restitution is mandatory. If convicted, the Court must impose a reasonable sentence under federal statutes and the advisory United States Sentencing Guidelines.

The indictment names Wanda Rivera-Burton and Brenda Tibbs as his alleged co-schemers. Here’s the indictment against Warren Ballentine:

Fox News paid Sarah Palin $15.85 per word, for 189,000 words over 150 appearances on various broadcasts on its network during her three years as an analyst. Well, it’s interesting to see if Roger Ailes feels the network got its money’s worth for this train-wreck.

Sarah Palin uttered more than 189,000 words over 150 appearances on various FOX broadcasts during her three years as an analyst at the network, or $15.85 per word

With the three-year contract now expired between FOX News and Sarah Palin, there is a wealth of commentary made by the former Alaska Governor and GOP Vice-Presidential nominee to dissect.

Palin, who was paid a reported $1 million per year as a contributor to FOX since mid-January 2010 when FOX announced her signing, may not have made quite the splash her employers had hoped during this three-year period, and would, on occasion go weeks between appearances.

So, did the network get their money’s worth? Source

NOI Leader Louis Farrakhan: “Constitutional Right to Bear Arms is Outdated”

NOI Leader Louis Farrakhan: “Constitutional Right to Bear Arms is Outdated” (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan is ruffling feathers, saying the Second Amendment is “irrelevant.” Of course, the gun rights crowd are up in arms about this. The fact is the original intent on bearing arms is quite different today than it was back when it was drafted but why even bother explaining that to the right?

In the third installment of his 52-week sermon series, Nation of Islam leader, Minister Louis Farrakhan, ridiculed the “volatile” American right to own weapons.

On Sunday, Farrakhan continued “The Time and What Must Be Done” sermon series by stating that Americans are increasingly angry at the government, and are simultaneously preparing themselves for war. Farrakhan went on to say that the Second Amendment has little relevance in modern society, stating that the constitutional right to bear arms is outdated.

“See, the right to bear arms was given at a time when there was no regulated militia to protect America,” he said. “But now you have police well-armed, you have state troopers well-armed, you have the National Guard and you have federal troops.”

Farrakhan served as the minister of major mosques in Boston and Harlem, and was appointed by the longtime Nation of Islam leader, Elijah Muhammad, before his death in 1975, as the National Representative of the Nation of Islam. Source

BREAKING NEWS:  The Boy Scouts of America is actively exploring a policy shift that includes dropping a ban on gays in the organization — gay scout members or gay scout leaders. They would leave it up to the individual units to make a decision on whether to accept gays into their organization. The leadership have said this change is coming from a grassroots effort from the local level.

“If adopted by the organization’s board of directors, it would represent a profound change on an issue that has been highly controversial — one that even went to the US Supreme Court. The new policy, now under discussion, would eliminate the ban from the national organization’s rules, leaving local sponsoring organizations free to decide for themselves whether to admit gay scouts.”

NYP: Beyonce Has Yet to Apologize to Sen. Chuck Schumer for Lip-Syncing Drama at Inauguration

The New York Post is keeping the Beyoncé lip-syncing drama of the “Star Spangled Banner” at the inauguration alive and well, saying she has yet to apologize to Sen. Chuck Schumer, who angrily admitted yesterday that she had not called him to say sorry. Hey, if Kelly Clarkson could sing live, so could Beyoncé. That’s the bottom line but we have set the bar so low, that anyone can become a singer, thanks to modern technology.

New York Post:  “I have not heard from her before, during or after,” a testy Schumer told The Post after he was asked if Beyoncé had called him to give a musical mea culpa. “She did not talk to me at all. I didn’t say any words to her, period.”

Buzzfeed tells a different story — Chuck Schumer’s office denies he’s upset with the singer – ”He wishes people would leave Beyoncé alone. She performed for free, and it was a thrill to have her at the ceremony. Just look at his face during her performance! He’d have her back in a New York minute,” the source said. “He has been friendly with Beyoncé and Jay-Z since they met at the Jelly concerts a few years back.”

Um, Sen. Schumer and New York Post, here’s Beyoncé first words on the matter — “Can I live?”
