Patrick Leach, 27, son of “Barney & Friends” creator Sheryl Leach, was arrested in Agoura Hills, Calif., for attempted murder, TMZ.com reports. Patrick Leach allegedly shot his neighbor, Eric Shanks, in the chest following a property dispute at his home on the exclusive West Winding Way, Malibu.
Patrick Leach also co-authored a book, Barney’s Book of Hugs, with his mother, that was published in 1997. The Malibu Times reported a neighbor said that his gardener had heard ‘a verbal altercation’ before hearing shots fired. Patrick Leach was arrested January 9 and posted $1 million bail on the same day.
