Christina Regusters Charged with Rape, Abduction of 5 Year old Girl from Philly School

HORRIFIC:  Christina Regusters was charged with 14 crimes, including rape and abduction, of a five year old girl from a West Philadelphia school in January. Christina Regusters was ordered held on $4 million bail during a court hearing on Friday.

Sources tell Action News that Regusters was the woman seen on school surveillance video, escorting the 5-year-old out of Bryant Elementary School and wearing Muslim garb, back on January 14th.

Police say Regusters held the girl captive before letting her go. The girl was found the next morning in a nearby Upper Darby park wearing only a t-shirt.

Sources also say Regusters was a match to DNA taken from the victim’s shirt. Darby did confirm reports that Regusters recently moved into the area and worked at the daycare the victim attended after school. Source

BREAKING: Former Rep. Jesse Jackson Jr. to plead guilty, faces 46-57 months in prison on federal charges of campaign finance fraud.

Former Rep. Jesse L. Jackson Jr. (D-Ill.) conspired with his wife to illegally spend $750,000 in campaign funds on personal expenses, including a $43,000 Rolex watch, home renovations, fur coats and a huge array of other transactions, according to a source close to the case.

Jackson Jr. is expected to plead guilty to the charges against him — conspiracy, making false statements, and mail and wire fraud — the source said.

Prosecutors will recommend a prison sentence of between 46 and 57 months for Jackson Jr., as well as a fine of $10,000 to $100,000, and forfeiture of a yet-to-be-determined portion of the misspent $750,000 in campaign funds. Source

CBS News reports Sandi Jackson would be in legal trouble under the terms of the plea agreement:

Formal charges against Jesse Jackson Jr. could be filed as soon as Friday and Tuesday at the latest. His plea has also implicated his wife, leading to tax fraud charges against her.

The filing at the U.S District Courthouse in Washington will not require a court appearance by either Jackson. Plea agreements will be submitted to the court clerk and assigned to judges, who will set initial court dates.

Black Nurse Tonya Battle Sues MI Hospital After Being Barred from Taking Care of White Baby

Tonya Battle, a black nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit at Hurley Medical Center in Michigan, has filed a lawsuit, alleging she was barred from taking care of a white baby because of the color of her skin. Tonya Battle alleges she was caring for the baby in the neonatal intensive care unit when the baby’s father asked to speak with a supervisor, saying he didn’t “want any African Americans taking care of his baby.”

Instead of standing up for what’s right, nurse’s supervisor chose to assign the baby to another nurse. That was after the father allegedly pulled up his sleeve and revealed a tattoo believed to be a Swastika. Wow. That’s horrible. Are we back in the early and mid-1900s?

The lawsuit also claims a staff meeting was held to inform the nurses of the father’s demands and that a new policy regarding the child had been instituted.

Timothy Reed Charged in Toddler Desmond Brown’s Death From ‘Homicidal Asphyxiation’ (Jefferson Parish Sheriff)

Timothy Reed was charged with the murder of three year old Desmond Brown, whose body was found inside a home in the 2000 block of Rue Racine in Marrero, La., earlier this week.

An autopsy determined the child died of homicidal asphyxiation and gasoline was also found at the home. Timothy Reed, 34, was the boyfriend of Desmond Brown’s mother. He was found hiding the a bathroom at a New Orleans East motel.

A multi-agency effort led to Reed’s arrest. Officials said he admitted taking the boy with him on Mardi Gras and being with him at the time of his death, but they don’t believe the confession was “completely truthful.”

Reed was booked into the Jefferson Parish Correctional Center on one count each of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder, attempted aggravated arson along with attachments for domestic battery and non-payment of child support. Source

Oh no, say it ain’t so — there is word that Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel is considering a run for the U.S. presidency. Um, can we say bad idea? Lloyd Grove reports that Emanuel  ”is said by well-connected Democrats to be considering the idea of running for president if Hillary Clinton opts out of the 2016 race.”

“The 53-year-old Emanuel, who is busy raising money for his 2015 reelection campaign in the Windy City, has had discussions both over the phone and face to face in the past month with Democratic Party donors and fundraisers about a possible White House run, according to sources.”

The Chicago Sun Times is reporting that Rahm Emanuel, President Obama’s former Chief of Staff, was “was scrambling to throw cold water” on the bit of news.

RUSSIAN METEORITE CRASH:  The most powerful meteorite explosion in history occurred in Chelyabinsk, far greater than the century-old Tunguska event,  RT News reports. The latest incident was caused by a  fragment of a comet or meteor. “It looks like it was something like Tunguska – a 60-meter diameter cosmic body, which fell into the Tunguska taiga in 1908,” said Professor Oleg Malkov, Russian Science Academy Institute of Astronomy, according to RT News.

Between Tunguska and Chelyabinsk, Russia has witnessed at least three such events.  In 1922, a meteor shower rained down on the village of Tsaryov near Volgograd in Southern Russia. Some 1.6 tons of meteor fragments were found there, with the biggest weighing almost 300 kilograms.

This was quite scary and about 1,000 people were injured. I am sure that will increase.

The BBC’s Daniel Sandford says people described a ball of fire in the sky — A meteor crashing in central Russia’s Ural mountains has injured at least 500 people, as the shockwave blew out windows and rocked buildings. Source

The Russian meteor blast was more powerful that the North Korea nuclear test and was the largest rock to hit the Earth since 1908. - @NatureNews
