Black Unemployment Rate for January 13.8 Percent, Hispanics 9.7 Percent

BLACK UNEMPLOYMENT RATE:  Black Americans continue to bear the brunt of the economic woes with its unemployment rate at 13.8 percent for January. Unemployment for Hispanics show little or no improvement at 9.9 percent.

The unemployment rate for the U.S. economy was 7.9 percent and 157,000 jobs were added, according to a Bureau of Labor Statistics release.
