Seth MacFarlane Joke About John Wilkes Booth Getting Inside Lincoln’s Head Crossed the Line

Seth MacFarlane, host of the 85th Academy Awards, joke about John Wilkes Booth getting inside the head of Abraham Lincoln was in poor taste and quite disgraceful. The president was assassinated. There’s nothing funny about that.  I guess the Academy got what they paid for. MacFarlane’s exact quip was:   “I would argue that the actor who got most inside Lincoln’s head was John Wilkes Booth.”

He also compared “Django Unchained” to Chris Brown and Rihanna, that also got boos from the audience. He said, “This is the story of a man fighting to get back his woman, who’s been subjected to unthinkable violence. Or as Chris Brown and Rihanna call it, a date movie.” Again, another horrible joke. Domestic violence is nothing to joke about. There are women who have lost their lives at the hands of their significant others.

He also dissed Ben Affleck:  “First time I saw him with all that dark facial hair I thought, my God, the Kardashians have finally made the jump to film.”

  • Some german guy with humor

I wonder, why the whole world thinks, we germans haven’t any sense of humor. It seems, the amricans are much more repressed. I laughed. ;)

What would have happened had the joke been about Martin Luther King and James Earl Ray?

Jones — Your point is? I was pretty clear that I found Seth MacFarlane’s joke in poor taste.
