Richard Riddle ID’d as Shooting Victim in Easter Sunday Shooting at Hiawatha Church of God in Christ

EASTER SUNDAY CHURCH SHOOTING:  Richard Riddle, 52,  was shot outside the Hiawatha Church of God in Christ after Easter Sunday services. The shooter, whose name has not been released, reportedly knew the victim. The shooting occurred about 1 p.m. as the service ended. There were no other injuries.

Rev. David Howard Jr., said he didn’t know of a motive. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and Ashtabula Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Ashtabula Police Department in the investigation.

Witnesses say Richard Riddle’s son killed him in the shooting outside the church Sunday. The son has been identified as Rashad Riddle. Associate pastor Sean Adams said Rashad Riddle was screaming this is the “will of Allah,” “this must happen” after shooting his father.
