Sherry West’s Actions Questioned in Brunswick GA Shooting of Antonio Santiago

Family Feud in Brunswick GA shooting death? Sherry West, the mother of 13 month old Antonio Santiago, who was murdered as he slept in his stroller, is raising eyebrows with her question about the life insurance policy. Her daughter, Ashley,  says she has questions about her mother’s behavior after the tragedy.

Ashley says that her mother, Sherry West, called the night of the shooting and asked, “How soon do you think life insurance policy will send me a check?”

Ashley says her mother is bipolar and has schizophrenic tendencies. She said her mother changed her story: “She told me that the baby was shot first, and then she told me that she was shot first.”

Sherry West, was shot in the thigh, and maintains her innocence.

West identified De’Marquise Elkins, 17, in a police photo lineup as her son’s killer. Dominique Lang, 15, is also charged. Source

It’s interesting that her daughter should come forward at this juncture, doubting what her mother has said. This is a tangled mess and I hope the prosecutors will get to the bottom of this.  Karimah and Katrina Elkins, the mother and aunt of De’Marquise Elkins were arrested Tuesday for lying to police.
