TRENTON STANDOFF: Another woman and child are the latest victims of domestic violence. Carmen Kelly and one of her five children were killed by a man who barricaded himself in a Trenton, NJ, home since late Friday afternoon. The man, who she reportedly met a few months ago, is currently holding her surviving children hostage, NBC10 Philadelphia reports.
Police have continued to widen the perimeter around 250 Grand Street, where the man lived with his girlfriend and her children.
Law enforcement sources told The Times on Friday the suspect, who is not the father of the children, killed their mother and her fourth child prior to police arrival.
The deceased woman is Carmen Kelly, 42, a mother of five, according to her first cousin Ray Kelly. Carmen Kelly had been living with the man for about two months.
Her oldest child, a 19-year-old autistic son, is not in the house, Ray Kelly said. Carmen Kelly also has two daughters, ages 17 and 14, a son in his early teens and a 4-year-old boy, Ray Kelly said, adding that he was not informed which of the children had been killed. Source
