South Africa’s last apartheid president F.W. de Klerk suspends his European trip Saturday and return to Cape Town over Nelson Mandela’s health, his foundation announced.
The FW de Klerk Foundation statement: “Mr FW de Klerk and his wife Elita have decided to suspend their current working visit and holiday in Europe because of Mr Mandela’s medical condition. They will arrive back in Cape Town tomorrow. Their thoughts are with the Mandela family during this difficult time and they join in their prayers for an improvement in Mr Mandela’s health.”
President Obama did not visit the ailing anti-apartheid leader in the hospital, but met with members of his family instead. We continue to pray for Mr. Mandela.
