***FOOD NETWORK WILL NOT RENEW PAULA DEEN’S CONTRACT, NETWORK SAYS.***
Paula Deen continues to put her foot in her mouth, with a weird video apology, begging “please forgive me,” for using the n-word and other racial slurs. It’s almost as though she was being coached on what to say. It’s real shame to see this woman’s reputation take such a beating, but she did it to herself. Well, her and Bubba.
Paula Deen: “I want to apologize to everybody for the wrong that I’ve done, and I want to learn and grow from this.” Deen says in the highly edited video. “Inappropriate, hurtful language is totally, totally unacceptable. I’ve made plenty of mistakes along the way, but I beg you, my children, my team, my fans, my partners, I beg for your forgiveness. Please forgive me for the mistakes that I’ve made.”
For the record, it’s very hypocritical for the black community to call out Paula Deen for using the n-word and ignore other blacks who use it as a part of their vocabulary. No-one should use the word, period. It was meant to denigrate not uplift.
Here’s Paula Deen’s pathetic apology:
Here is a more composed Paula Deen:
