The thrill is gone….South African riot police clashed with anti-Obama protesters in Soweto Saturday shortly before President Obama was set to hold a townhall at the Soweto campus of the University of Johannesburg, a Reuters photographer said. Armed police fired stun grenades to disperse the crowd over several hundred protesters.
Separately, President Obama met privately with members of Nelson Mandela’s family. He said, ‘I expressed my hope that Madiba draws peace and comfort from the time that he is spending with loved ones.’
