Any fall-out from Miley Cyrus’ vulgar MTV Video Music Awards is justifiable. I would also add that Robin Thicke was just as disgusting, considering he is married and his wife, Paula Patton, was sitting in the audience watching a raunchy performance of his hit song, “Blurred Lines,” by both.
I am not surprised conservative advocacy group, The Parents Television Council, expressed outrage over the “adult content” of the MTV VMAs. The group accused MTV of marketing sex to children. Did you see the expression on Will Smith’s daughter’s face? That was priceless.
“This much is absolutely clear: MTV marketed adults-only material to children while falsely manipulating the content rating to make parents think the content was safe for their children,” Dan Isett, the group’s director of public policy, said in a statement. “MTV continues to sexually exploit young women by promoting acts that incorporate ‘twerking’ in a nude-colored bikini. How is this image of former child star Miley Cyrus appropriate for 14-year-olds?” Jeannie Kedas, a spokewoman for MTV, declined to comment on the accusations. Source: The Hill
With MTV anything goes, but that just took the cake. Miley Cyrus was twerking and looking like a hot mess. There were also condom commercials during the awards show. Bear in the mind, the show was rated for kids as young as 14.
