Daquan Breland has been identified as the alleged gunman in the shooting death of 16-month-old Antiq Hennis. A second suspect, Daquan Wright, is also in police custody. Both men were arrested in Wilkes-Barre, Penn., Friday morning.
NYPD officers said Daquan Wright handed the .45 caliber handgun to Daquan Breland as the Anthony Hennis passed on a Brownsville street, hitting the toddler.
It’s no surprise that Daquan Breland has a criminal record. He was paroled in January 2012 after his conviction for felony assault in a June 2010 shooting in upstate Auburn, NY, the NY Daily News reports. Police said Breland and two of his cousins were reportedly recruited by a Brooklyn woman to settle a dispute.
