CHRISTMAS EVE HORROR: Middle school science teacher Sharon Hill Aydelott was beaten and stabbed to death by her 17-year-old son William Brandon Aydelott in her Gulf Breeze, Fla., home Christmas Eve.
Police found Sharon Aydelott lying in a pool of blood with her throat and face slashed, with a knife left in her eye socket. Her son, a star pitcher on Gulf Breeze High School’s baseball team, was arrested and charged with murder. He reportedly confessed to the horrific crime.
The Northwest Florida Daily News reports Aydelott was found dead after a friend stopped by to check on her. Her son had been staying at a friend’s home since September because the two had a rocky relationship, police say.
Police found William Brandon Aydelott at the friend’s home where he had been staying three hours after he murdered his mother. He admitted to the brutal murder of his mother and detectives say he even smiled slightly as he made the confession.
Sharon Hill Aydelott taught seventh and eighth graders for the last 15 years at Holley-Navarre Middle School.
