Brandon Robinson was a redshirt junior on the university’s football team. He attended Orangeburg-Wilkinson High School.
WLTX reports that the shooting occurred at about 1:30 p.m. outside the Andrew Hugine Dorms at the Orangeburg college.
Police were searching for four suspects who fled the campus after the shooting. WLTX also reports that Claflin University, which is located across the street from South Carolina State, issued an alert to its students and identified one of the suspects as Justin Bernard Singleton of Charleston. #scsushooting
South Carolina State University is a historically black college, with an enrollment of 3,200 students, and is located about 40 miles south of Columbia, S.C.
