Former NFL running back Herschel Walker has entered the political fray by endorsing Republican Senate candidate Jack Kingston. He is featured in a new television spot on endorsing Kingston, of Savannah.
Kingston is in a runoff with David Perdue, the cousin of former Gov. Sonny Perdue. The runoff will be held in July and the winner will run against Democratic nominee Michelle Nunn.
In the 30-second spot, Herschel Walker says, “I’ve had the great honor of representing our state and my home. I care deeply about our Georgia’s future. That’s why I wanted my friend Jack Kingston carrying the ball for us in Washington.”
It’s interesting to note that Herschel Walker doesn’t seem bothered by Jack Kingston’s shenanigans, such as calling for students getting free lunches clean the cafeterias for the lunches, despite racking up over $4,000 meals himself, all on the taxpayer’s dime.
Don’t get me wrong, I have no beef with any black person voting for the Republican Party. As a centrist, I have crossed party lines many times, but it’s just ironic that Herschel Walker is backing Jack Kingston.
