Esteban Santiago, 26, identified as the gunman who killed five, injured eight in the Fort Lauderdale Airport shooting.
MSNBC is reporting that family members say he has some mental health issues and had sought help.
Sen. Bill Nelson’s spokesman Ryan Brown told the Washington Post that Santiago carried a military identification.

Santiago reportedly opened fire indiscriminately in the baggage claim area.
MSNBC reports the shooter may have retrieved a gun from his luggage after arriving on a flight. They are also reporting that Santiago’s weapon may have been checked “lawfully.”
The Palm Beach Post reports that Santiago may have emerged from the bathroom firing the weapon. ABC News is reporting that Esteban Santiago flew from Anchorage through Minneapolis to Fort Lauderdale.
