Hillary Clinton Gets Standing Ovation from Audience at “Color Purple” Broadway Show

Hillary Clinton got a standing ovation from the sold-out audience at the final performance of The Color Purple on Broadway on Sunday afternoon, The New York Times reports.

Clinton, former President Bill Clinton and their daughter, Chelsea, attended the Tony Award-winning show.

The Color Purple, which won best revival in 2016 Tony awards, closed on Sunday after opening in December 2015.

Clinton’s standing ovation was vastly different from the reception Mike Pence received when he attended the Nov. 18 performance of Hamilton.  He was booed and the cast publicly addressed him during the final curtain call. Donald Trump demanded an apology, which, of course, he never received.
