CNN right wing commentator Jeffrey Lord says Donald Trump is the “Martin Luther King of healthcare.” Um, that deserves a big f*ck you response.
Lord said, “Alisyn [Camerota], think of Donald Trump as the Martin Luther King of health care. When I was a kid, President Kennedy did not want to introduce the Civil Rights bill because he said it wasn’t popular, he didn’t have the votes for it. Dr. King kept putting people in the streets in harms way to put the pressure on so that the bill would be introduced. That’s what finally worked.”
Democratic commentator Symone Sanders, who was also on the panel, wasn’t having this nonsense. “Dr. King was marching for civil rights because people that looked like me were being beaten,” she shot back. “Basic human rights were being denied to these people merely because of the color of the skin. Let’s not equate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. — a humanitarian and Nobel Peace Prize winner — to the vagina-grabbing President Donald Trump,” Sanders clapped back. Ouch.

Lord’s comment is an insult on every level imaginable. Dr. King stood for racial equality, justice and looking out for the least among us. Donald Trump cares about Donald Trump, his family and the rich.
This is one of the main reasons I do not watch CNN on a regular basis. They have a bunch of lunatics who will spew shameful rhetoric in defense of a lunatic.
Of course, Twitter had a lot to say:
Embarrassing: why does CNN allow this (via Skype). There are thoughtful, credible R's who can talk about the health care debate. https://t.co/7KvoqUFbxT

Your platform diminishes in value every time Jeffrey Lord & Kayleigh McEnany speaks.

@CNN you hit a new low every day by keeping Jeffrey Lord on your payroll

Can't CNN find anyone from the right who is even remotely compos mentis? #JeffreyLord
